Interview with StoStorama — Singer/Songwriter/model

StoStorama is a 21-year old model residing in Tarzana, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi, my name is Nicole Stoehr and I was born in Tarzana, California on December 3rd. I am currently a full time student at Perce College. My passion is for creating music, singing, song writing, modeling, and performing. Apart from my passions that I follow in my life I seek relaxation, peace, and inspiration from my friends and loved ones, enjoying the beach, and meditating with vinyasa yoga.

StoStorama sitting on a chairWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I started modeling as a child actually when I was 5 years old. I did a lot of print work for Speedo, Disney, and Mattel. When I was 8 I started modeling for Mattel comercials and began working for clothing brands as well. Once I hit Middle school I started focusing more on music and landed a record deal with Buena Vista Records. But now that I have graduated High School, I have started to model again for several compaines and photographers.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

For me my personal goals are quite simple. I hope to find inner peace and happiness within myself and maintain a balanced life despite the obstacles that may come in the future. 10 years from now I hope I have at least three albums released. I want people to hear my songs and connect with people all over the world, and also hope to be establishing my own buisness writing/ producing songs, music videos, and art with a creative team.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

The work load I get for modeling often changed month to month. But usually, I get at least two jobs a moth. I have done a lot of work recently. I have acted and modeled for shorts, music videos, and Web Series as well. I have also gotten work for fashion modeling.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Once I was at a water park doing a swim wear shoot, and when I was doing the shoot I stepped on a bee that was in the water and totally started crying and couldn’t stand for the rest of the day.

StoStorama face closeupDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I think the most important part about one’s health is his or her diet. For me I try to eat a plant based diet and stay away from meat and dairy as much as possible. I don’t restrict myself from eating these foods but I feel like I have better skin and more energy when I eat real natural food that comes from nature. I changed my diet when I was 18 and started making my own food and staying away from processed food and I don’t think I can ever go back to “unhealthy” eating. I just have grown to like real food better.

When It comes to exercise my favorite thing to do is dance. I love connecting with music and using my energy to dance. It makes me the happiest when it comes to exercise. But honestly the best way to stay on top of my fitness is trying to switch it up and do different things so my mind or body never gets bored.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I am obsessed with boxes and notebooks.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I would make myself more confident in myself; that is something I am always working on, it would also be nice to be another inch taller.

What is the one talent you wish you possessed?

I wish I could teleport.

Interview with Penny Bennet

Penny Bennet is a 23-year old model residing in San Jose, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born in Madrid, Spain. I grew up moving a lot, since dad was in the military. I have one younger sister. In regards to hobbies I like reading, knitting, playing with cats, making lists, and researching various things.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I first modeled when I was eight and living in Italy for United Colors of Benneton. I did not do much again until college when I decided I needed money.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I had this problem for years of always having new goals, a new life path, and completely planning it out. It changed so often I have decided it is best to give up and see where life goes. I have some broad goals of more travel, owning a house, and having a decent retirement but that is pretty much it besides staying happy and healthy.

Penny Bennet toplessHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

It really depends a lot. I’ve had four shoots in a day before and I’ve had none for long periods of time. I wasn’t modeling too much in Jacksonville which is where I most recently was but much more in Dallas and since I have arrived in San Jose. Most shoots I do involve some nudity, some more artistic than others.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Best- Developing a fondness for polaroids and vintagey stuff. When I get paid more. The more artistic shoots. When the vision of myself and the photographer work together or compliment each other. I also like it when photographer have cats where I am shooting because cats are the best.

Worst- photographers who ignore boundaries, spiders in my underwear, really bugs outside in all my stuff in general, a person bleeding on me, trying to get me to stay longer with no pay, when pay is hourly, and making me miss something else important because they were driving us places, unfortunately even many more.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Honestly, no, none of those that I can think of.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Ha. Um well I am a feminist, and not that sex-positive kind, so, everything. While enjoy modeling at times, if society worked the way I wanted it to I probably wouldn’t have the work.

Penny Bennet face closeupDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

No sports, growing up I did a little dance and gymnastics. I used to hate yoga but now I do that sometimes and stretch. I just moved to San Jose and my fiancee says we are going to go hiking every weekend so I guess that should be good for me. I am a vegetarian; in fact, I was born disliking meat, soo everything but meat. I love bread with butter and eat a decent bit of fruits and veggies. I also bake a lot and have sweets with pretty much every meal. For some reason that seems to make people mad but I think that is dumb.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

Well I guess most people in this realm of my work don’t know that I am smart. I graduated summa cum laude from high school and college and I was done with my BS and MA well before most my friends completed their bachelor degrees. I got into the top school in my field for grad school but decided to stay with my fiancee and sister at my same institution instead.

I also really enjoy artistic endeavors myself- drawing, sewing, and others.

Would you change anything about yourself?

Physically, hmm. I am five eight but kind of which I was five ten or even five eleven. I love feeling tall and towering above others which I guess I can at least still do in heels. It would also be cool if I had the ability to change my hair color, length, and more anytime without having to cut or dye or grow it. Otherwise, not giving up so easily when I am tired, bored, or struggle the tiniest bit.

Are you currently in a relationship? How would you describe your partner?

My fiancee is nice, easy going, carefree though a little temperamental at times, patient, artistic, almost as adventurous as me.

Interview with Beth Wheeler — Hairstylist and model

Beth Wheeler is a 23-year old model residing in Modesto, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Beth Wheeler and I’ll start off by telling you a little about myself. I was born May 15, 1991. Right now, I live with my wonderful family. I got into modeling in 2010. I have worked with wonderful photographers around my area and some out of the area as well. I am a Promotional Model for Emerald Girls and looking for more jobs like that. I am also a Licensed Hairstylist. I got my licence in early 2014. I didn’t exactly always want to do hair. It was just something that sparked my mind so I decided to go in so I could check it out. I soon started Beauty College and ended up loving it. I couldn’t be anymore happier with the way my life is right now! It’s getting better and better each and every day!

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I’ve wanted to model since I was a little girl. My folks even took me to a place here in my home town to see if I can get started in modeling but they wanted too much money for me to even get started so unfortunately at the time, we had to turn them down. In 2010, I talked to a friend who was a published model and she told me how I could get started. I got my MM account approved and away my modeling career went. I became a promotional model and hoping to become more than just a promotional model.

Beth Wheeler holding an automatic gunWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I hope to soon find a job as a Hairstylist in a salon nearby and become a well known model world wide. I want to be on covers of magazines, on billboards, in commercials and so much more! In 5 to 10 years I can see myself being a very successful model with lots of fans with a wonderful family of my own!

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I model as often as I could. Right now, I mainly do photo shoots but hope to get into video and acting, catwalks and different things as my career gets better.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

My best experience would have to be my first photo shoot with my Promotional Model Company because I was going to be featured in a magazine for the very first time. I put on my good attitude and went all out for making myself look the part for the magazine.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I think a funny or embarrassing part of my career is when I did one shoot a year ago. The photographer, the photographer’s assistant and I took a walk out to a pasture and I was wearing lingerie for the shoot. There was lots of mudd and dirt everywhere out there. I had to wear heels for that part of the shoot. I was standing there and all the sudden the owner of the pasture, his dog came running up and jumped full force on me. I fell into a huge puddle of mudd and the dog took off. I look at my photographer and we all just laughed but that ended the shoot since I was covered head to toe in mudd. Over-all, it was a fun shoot while it lasted!

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

The only thing I would change about the modeling industry would be to be less picky with their models. People come in all shapes and sizes and should be treated equally.

Beth Wheeler behind a sports carDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

Once a day, I do a workout at home that lasts one full hour. I do full sit ups, horse kicks, weights, lunges and many other things to keep my body toned and tight. I don’t really have much of a diet because I’m already small as it is so there’s no need for me to diet. I try to eat more meat though and I’m always drinking lots of water to keep up during my long days.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

Up until I turned 18 years old, I always thought in my opinion that tattoos and piercings were trashy. Look at me now, I have four tattoos, and getting more, of course, and have my lip and belly button pierced. I used to have my tongue pierced but took it out awhile back.

Would you change anything about yourself?

Physically, I would change the size of my boobs. I want them a little bigger than they already are right now and I will one day get them done!

What is your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure would probably be me being obsessed with how I look every day. I never leave the house without my hair and make up done and having on nice clothes.

Interview with Cynthia Aileen — A Dancefloor Enabler

Cynthia Aileen is a 24-year old model residing in San Francisco, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi, how do you do!

Let me start off by saying I was born a male. Just kidding. Now that I have your attention…

I was born in the up-and-coming city of Oakland and have lived all around the Bay Area -The Yay to be politically correct-. Please don’t be the ignorant type that automatically cringes with you hear the word “Oakland.” It’s a bustling place with a true urban feel and all types of vivacious characters. Oh, and with a Whole Foods!

Mamasan and Papasan are divorced, but ironically working symbiotically together in the same workplace. My dad is actually half Chinese and my mother is Scottish. My mom is currently at Burning Man without moi. My sis just had a baby boy named Brady who is actually not so disturbing looking, and my brother owns his own bar… and no I don’t get a plethora of free drinks.

Furthermore, I have a grown up job in the Financial District of San Francisco by day, and DJ at night, and model or act somewhere in between. Kinda that jack of all trades type, ya dig?

I love DJing, manipulating music, and witnessing the enjoyment from people when they hear a good beat. It gives me chills. I’ll dance anywhere, without music, on the spot. Dare me?

I see as many concerts and shows as my wallet allows me, I have 3 tattoos with more in the works, I love sour candy, and I have a German Shepherd who is the love of my life, along with my boyfriend, yes babe. I love vintage anything and play zombie video games quite often. Essential oils are the bees knees.

Cynthia Aileen in a gardenWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I really wanted to eat cotton balls for the rest of my life.

No, just kidding again. I stumbled upon Model Mayhem when I was about 22. On the docket was always that want for a chance to model or act for fun. So I signed up and starting getting some hits right away, I don’t know how. I remember my first photographer. He was Vietnamese, hilarious, and made me feel super comfortable. I didn’t tell him it was my first time. Nonetheless, he couldn’t tell. He fed me chips. Spicy ones. Score.

Then, a friend, and still one, Dominic was casting for a short film. He found me on Model Mayhem, chose me without meeting me, interviewing me, knowing me whatsoever and said you need to be my leading actress in this film. The character was a bad ass Ryan Gosling in Drive and Rooney Mara in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo type. I was on board. I was amazed he could read me from my profile like that. He gave me the script, we filmed in a week, got to slap my co-star, and it ended up playing in the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. From then on I have been on the website SF Casting for Commercials, Print, Film and TV. Among popular names, I just recently filmed Wives with Knives on Discovery ID, and Murder in the First on TNT.

There is something about the kinetic motion of acting that has a fulfillment for me modeling doesn’t necessarily not have, but feels like a total different animal.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I am a constantly on the road towards spiritual nirvana. I lost my best friend 2 years ago in a school shooting at 24 years old, and actually saw my own life flash before my eyes, believe it or not. So, really, all I want is to be able to live life in the most poetic manner for you, Grace.

If I impress someone with my work, great. But all that matters at the end of the day is how you feel about yourself because no one will love you if you don’t love you. I do what I do because it feels good. I make way for any type of adventure and run far with it. When I have the chance to partake in something whether it be DJ’ing, modeling, acting, or dancing in the street, I put my absolute all into it. Then see where it goes. With that being said, I have no idea what my goals are. Haha! Actually, to live in another country for a year or more has been something that has been on my mind. Sorry, am I just ranting?

Rather than having the end result in mind, I’d rather have the journey and the process to be thoroughly excited about. I think many people forget that. In 5 to 10 years I could be on the streets, or in my own private jet. Who the hell knows.

Cynthia Aileen face closeupHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I don’t model as much anymore, but if an intriguing project comes along that sparks my quirky and edgy nature, I do it. I am pretty picky. I mostly do auditions and filming now. I audition for things a couple times a week and film maybe once every 2 weeks. As I said before, I DJ and have a full time job so I don’t know how I am still alive. What is sleep?

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Best experience – Meeting James Franco. I was actually on break for a modeling gig and went to a quick dinner in Palo Alto and ended up sitting next to James Franco. So for some reason, I associate the two together. hehe.

Worst experience – Not running away with James Franco; I repeat, I left the restaurant without James Franco.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I was doing this intimate scene in a short film, not sexually intimate, just really mentally demanding, and… farted. It wasn’t the audible type of fart, but the smelly one. I had to watch the face of my co-star twinge a little. hahaha. I am lol’ing just writing it.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I want girls to give the address, name, and phone number of wherever they are going so if something goes horribly wrong, their boyfriend can fuck up that mother fucking twat.

The industry will never change their expectations of girls and “what is pretty” so I won’t even ask for that…it’s a vicious cycle unfortunately. I just hope girls have the confidence and right mental capacity to deal with it and feel good about themselves no matter what, or be able to tell them to fuck off.

Cynthia Aileen walking on the streetsDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

Hahaha! No one ever talks about those things to me because they know I don’t do either. I did band in high school and was raised a vegetarian. Which means no sports and a boring, yet nutritional diet. I make sure I eat healthy and make up for my lack of protein but that’s about it.

I take my dog to the dog park to make sure she gets some exercise and I live vicariously through her. I snack a lot and have an unyielding sweet tooth. My favorite food is vegetable chow mein with fried tofu. Yes.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

A nap can not be any less than 3 hours for me. I also suck at calculating percentages on the spot.

Would you change anything about yourself?

Negative. Love yourself ladies. Growing up the only thing I hated about myself was my skin color, which is on the pale side. In elementary school I was called Casper. haha. I used to sit in my backyard and try to get at least a wee bit of colour but I would only burn.

Now, I have come to embrace it. I feel extremely lucky I have no insecurities about my looks because that can be utterly poisonous. It’s a truly rewarding and freeing feeling. Please try it.

What is your favorite thing to do alone?

Need I explain? wink wink.

Watch youtube videos of Beyonce and mimic her every move, right? yeah, duh.

Interview with Madisse — Alternative Model and Lady Boss

Madisse is a 21-year old model residing in Los Angeles, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Madison, I was born in Dallas, raised in Arizona. I have a huge, loud family, We could give the Kardashians a good run for their money. I have four amazing siblings who are my best friends and two parents that are still together! My mother is a teacher to autistic students and my father is a self-made entrepreneur. This makes for an interesting household. I am an alternative model as well as graphic designer and marketing coordinator for a contemporary restaurant. I believe in mind, body and soul. A clean, happy, enlightened lifestyle.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

When I was in high school I entered a contest and won for Azteen Magazine. I grew up singing, acting and dancing so I thought, why not try modeling as well and I fell in love. I do it for me, I do it because I like lighting, I like the visual arts, and I like emotion. For me it is almost like a form of meditation.

Madisse face closeupWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I like a good challenge. I also appreciate the artistic process in any format. I hope to take part in artistic projects wether I’m behind or in front of the camera. I would like to travel and to push myself harder in alternative modeling. There is beauty in self-expression and that is something I would like to learn from other cultures, as well as sharing it.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

My workload really depends on how I’m feeling that week. Sometimes I will be in work mode and want to nerd out so I switch my focus to Marketing. Sometimes I feel inspired and want to model so I plan accordingly. I like a good balance. The type of work I do varies, like I said, I like to adopt projects so it’s rather spontaneous!

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best experience I had was watching my younger sister do it for the first time. I love seeing the same fire in her eyes that resides in mine and I am excited to share that with her.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I went out with a bunch of friends and ended up nerding out over graphic design with one of the group. They had a little shoot set-up in the house. We were messing around and he shot a few snaps of me, next thing you know it’s on a billboard!

Madisse sitting on a gardenIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I would like to see more recognition for alternative models and models that work independently. There is alot to be learned from independent models and people tend to assume that they are less than they’re worth because they are not signed.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

Yoga! I like classes where I can shake my booty to the good vibes  -Zumba-. I recently found a new, crazy love for swimming and I am up for any sport, I always love to join in even if I am horrible. I try to eat clean and healthy. I pay attention to what I put in my body. I stick to veggies, fruit, grains and lean protein. But I do love thai food and chocolate, nobody will ever take them from me!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I actually have my AA from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Absolutely incredible group of leaders, game-changers, entrepreneurs and designers.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I could always be a bit taller.

Do you have any fears or phobias?

A list of phobias for a hypochondriac? Never!

I am deathly afraid of heights. Im afraid of balloons, drills, seafood and staircases. I can pretty much convince myself that I’m dying at any given moment.

Interview with Brooke Haag — Spontaneous, Ambitious, Gregarious

Brooke Haag is a 19-year old model residing in San Francisco, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born in Los Gatos, CA, and have 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and a very complicated family background. I love volleyball, dancing, singing, acting, and have a passion for children.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I first started when I lived in Washington when I was living with my foster parents. My oldest sister was living in LA modeling and I had always looked up to her so I thought I would try it out. I started booking gigs through model mayhem and then I found myself walking in a nike runways show in Seattle. Things happened relatively quick and I was told I’m very adaptable, especially since I’ve gone through many different transitions in my life.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I personally wish to be a young female entrepreneur. I currently work at Bay Area Medical Academy as the executive assistant to the CEO. She is a female entrepreneur herself so I’ve been learning the ropes on how to start my own business. Although I’m not interested in the medical field, I can still use this experience to execute my own dreams. I hope to move back to Los Angeles soon and really make a name for myself, not for the sake that I want to be “famous” but because I have a very unconventional, inspiring story in my opinion and I want to help others up and see many success stories like myself arise. I hope to start my own non-profit one day as well as travel the world for my entertainment abilities. I also have this secret talent of writing rap lyrics.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I try to model when I can on the weekends. With this new job I have it’s a little difficult, but I make time. I mainly do photoshoots and runway. I never do any nude or too revealing shoots. I am a very classy lady with a little sass in my style and I will keep it that way.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Best experiences is working with a really great crew and being able to meet other very talented models. For example I met my best friend at a very unique outdoor runway show. It was described as a “Fash-Mob” so quite literally a random runway show starting in the middle of San francisco. Worst experiences I would say when you get a flakey photographer or you’ve been lead to believe the shoot style would be different than originally expressed.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

The industry is rough. It’s very much so like a battlefield, but the ones who do well, know where they are going and proceed with confidence. I would change the agencies attitudes if I could. I feel like everyone is so selfish in regards to their “cut” of what they make and they’re not actually focusing on the product.

Brooke Haag wearing a bridal dressDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I play volleyball! I played for Santa Monica College. I try to eat healthy but there’s the occasional in n out burger, I mean c’mon… I am a Cali Girl. I love making protein smoothies with my liquid vitamin shot of Vemma which stands for Vitamins, Essential Minerals, Mangosteen and Aloe. I had really bad inflammation due to volleyball so Mangosteen really helps with that. I’ve also noticed that I haven’t gotten sick since I started drinking products that have the super-fruit mangosteen. I would say Vemma is my favorite heath and wellness company because there are so many different products that have such great health benefits. I always drink a BODE shake after my workouts and it really keeps my tone on point. I am lactose free so I love my almond milk!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I didn’t know about my little sister until she was 3. I was the princess of Kingston, Washington because I did scholarship pageants back in high school. I was on the Queen Latifah Show and Jimmey Kimmel.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I wouldn’t change a thing… except for maybe taking back when my friend threw the handle to my old fashioned red wagon, when I was 8, on my face because I had to get 9 stitches on my face that caused hair not to grow on a little patch of my eyebrow. I love my full eyebrows, but it’s a pain to fill in a little spot each time.

Have you ever stolen anything?

I’ve stolen toothpaste from Walgreens once. I have a fetish about clean teeth. My wallet had just gotten stolen and I had no way to pay for toothpaste since I was about to go camping.

Interview with Elyse Nicole Craft — The Girl Next Door

Elyse Nicole Craft is a 20-year old model residing in Salinas, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I am Elyse Nicole Craft, born and raised in California, USA. I am the oldest child of three. I have one brother, one sister, two cats, and my dad. All of whom I love to the ends of time. I am currently a waitress at multiple restaurants while saving up money to move to a big city and launch my professional modeling career. My passion is modeling, I absolutely love what I do and I hope to take it as far as I possibly can.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

When I was in my Senior year of high school, I had my senior pictures taken. Back then I was so shy and mousy – I turned out horrible in the pictures. But my dad saw them, and thought they were so beautiful. He told me I had to try and get into modeling. I told him I didn’t know how, I’m not pretty enough. My dad did his research and signed me up on Model Mayhem….and that’s were it all began. Photographers were contacting me left and right, even though my pictures were a nightmare compared to all of the other models on the website. However, they all told me the same thing – that they saw potential in me. I decided to give it a try, and with endless instructions and criticisms, my photos started to get better with each photoshoot. It turned out to be the best thing that I’ve ever done, because it gives me a way to express myself and give myself and my family something to be proud of.

Elyse Nicole Craft wearing a pink bikiniWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My dream come true would be to become a well known international model. If that doesn’t happen, I have been studying environmental engineering. I have always been a career based girl. For me, love will come when the time is right. So my family plans aren’t very thought out right now.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I do modeling whenever someone needs to hire me. My modeling work has been very consistent. I sometimes have three shoots a day! Because of my height I mainly do print work.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

I’ve had many great experiences in modeling. From being a Miss California beauty pageant state finalist to modeling ball gowns on live television on Wake Up San Diego. As for worst experiences, nothing comes to mind.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

There is only one thing that I would like to change about the modeling industry – it’s the girls who are chosen to model for most clothing lines….they all look the same! Super skinny, pale, and too tall. We need girls who will represent the masses. Girls who will look the same as I would in the clothes they are modeling. That’s what I would love to see.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

In high school I was very athletic. I played water polo, tennis, and was a swimmer. Now, I go to the gym every day to keep my body and muscle toned. My diet isn’t very strict; basically, I just eat a lot of protein and keep the carb intake low.

Elyse Nicole Craft wearing a black swimsuitPlease share something people don’t know about you.

I am obsessed with cats and clothing!

Would you change anything about yourself?

At times, when I see these gorgeous women in magazines and on television, I become really self conscious. Seeing them sometimes makes me wish that I look like them. Being bullied because of how I looked as a child doesn’t help, either. I am half Filipino so I have a wide nose and am shorter than most models. Those are the two things I get insecure about…but then I think about how the well-known people look -i.e. Beyoncé, Adele, and others- and they look nothing like the cookie cutter Barbie dolls. Yet almost everyone admires them. They are beautiful in their own unique ways. Thinking this way has made me see myself in a different light. I wouldn’t change a thing about myself. Life has molded me into a strong, independent woman and I am thankful for everything, both good and bad, that has happened to me.

What features do you look for in a partner?

In a partner I look for honesty, respect, equality, responsibility, and someone who loves to have fun and be themselves. My past romantic life has been too full of lies and deceiving. I’m ready for someone real and down to earth who can value their own goals while still being able to value a relationship with me.

Interview with Melody Jordan — The XXX Ballerina

Melody Jordan is a 22-year old model residing in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Melody Jordan and I have been modeling for a little bit over 2 years. I originally come from WV but have gotten my fame when I moved out to Los Angeles. I am best known for my talent in dance and also my talent in singing. I enjoy writing music as well. I currently live back home with my parents and sister, and plan to restart my career in Los Angeles very soon!

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I was always on stage or in front of a camera, so modeling wasn’t anything “new” to me. My father is also a photographer, so I spent lots of days posing for him. I started my erotic career when I was 20 years old when I made my MM and an agent contacted me. I never regretted it and I got so many cool opportunities from it!

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I would love to be a penthouse pet or a playboy bunny one day. But when it comes down to it, I would love to have my own dance school and finish college. I dream of having a family as well.

Melody Jordan lying on the grass in underwearHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I do mostly lingerie and erotic modeling as most of you may know. I also do video and acting and any sort of dance performance I can get my hands on. I usually work full time but currently I am on a break.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

My best experience would be when I got to fly to Hawaii. I got an enjoy all expense paid trip while getting paid good $$ to shoot. I will never forget that trip.

My worse experience is anytime a photographer tries to touch me inappropriately …. that’s a no go.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I think the most embarrassing thing was when -this may get graphic- I was doing a scene and I had a girl spit in my asshole and I was supposed to squeeze it out and the #2 came out instead….

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I think photographers need to understand that there is an art to photography and that not anyone with a camera can take photos. I have seen so many request for someone to get their “private collection” and I think it’s disrespectful…especially when there are paid sites, who keep us erotic models working.
I also think MM needs to get over the fact that there is porn.

Melody Jordan getting undressed on a couchDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I do dance…ballet modern and jazz. I have done kickboxing and I love pilates. Lately I have been picking up weights as well.

I am sorta bad when it comes to eating but when I do eat healthy, I follow a strict 4 to 5 times a day meal plan with plenty of protein and organic food. We have to look our best especially if your butt naked!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I have a guilty please of playing the Sims.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I wish I didn’t gain weight fast!!!!!!

Do you have any fears or phobias?

Yes I have a fear of being alone. I grew up with wanting to find my true love and I hope it happens sooner than later.

Interview with Kendra Blum — Model and Actor Inspired

Kendra Blum is a 22-year old model residing in Grass Valley, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I am Kendra Blum, twenty two years young and living a life full of passion. Born in the valley of the Sierra Nevada mountains, I spend my time creating art, enjoying all aspects of photography, and letting music take the lead. I consider myself a connoisseur of travel. I have been to sixteen countries thus far in life, with plans of future travel always working in my head. I try to live my life by finding light in the dark, and beauty in the chaos.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I began modeling around 3 years ago, diving into a more professional career in the past year and a half. I enjoy working with a diverse group of photographers, expanding my profile by collaborating different ideas.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My personal and professional goals are to inspire others to find elegance in life. I believe every person is unique and interesting in their own ways. Through my modeling platform, and my intense interest in Psychology, I hope to go into motivational speaking. With this, I want to travel the globe opening the eyes of the youth to the allure around them, and most importantly, within them.

Kendra Blum in a dark roomHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I collaborate with photographers on a daily basis. Whether it’s just discussing ideas for future shoots or making connections with others in the industry, I try to progress every day. Lately, I have been more into planning themed shoots. Specializing in specific interests of the different photographers. I would love to get more into acting, whether it be movies or plays.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

I think the hardest part of modeling is staying active in the community and making sure evolution of myself is prevalent to my work. But with this, my favorite thing about modeling is seeing people’s creative juices flow. It’s an amazing experience seeing a group of people come together and turn all their different ideas into a beautiful completed piece of art. It’s a very rewarding experience seeing everyone’s influence in a final product.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

One of my favorite accomplishments is being recognized by a photographer in Central America and being personally asked to come collaborate with him. It was a really extraordinary experience being able to work with someone from a completely different culture. Applying Central American fashion and taste to my American flavor was a really cool combination.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I’d love to see the industry focus more on abstract, diverse types of models. Rather than the typical high fashion model, I think diving into more grotesque, in the best possible way, concepts could really expand the horizons for people’s definition of “beautiful.”

Kendra Blum wearing a long orange dressDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

Yoga, yoga, yoga, meditation, meditation, meditation. I believe having a healthy heart, as well as a healthy mind are both important to success. I avoid fast food, and try to maintain a balanced diet. I have to admit, I eat chicken basically everyday. It is high in protein and a very good lean meat with a lot of health benefits. Plus, anything green. Juicing! Organic fruits and vegetables turned into juice every day can be very beneficial to health and well-being.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

An alternate career I would be absolutely one-hundred-percent happy with is a criminal profiler. The human mind is one of the most fascinating things to me – how it ticks, why it ticks, what makes it tick. I’d love to explore the mind of a serial killer and look for patterns of behavior that led them to commit their crimes.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I love the person I am and the body I was provided, but I wish I was better about getting up and going on a run! I think cardio is so important and I wish I did it more.

What is your guilty pleasure?

I’m a sucker for anything soft! I have a strange habit of walking around touching everything I see. Fabric, trees, skin… soft things are extra comforting to me. Wrap me up in a silk blanket, lay me horizontally and I’m in dreamer heaven!

Interview with Natalie-Monique — Aussie Actress and Model

Natalie-Monique is a 22-year old model residing in Los Angeles, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m from the Gold Coast in Australia, I came over to Los Angeles three and a half years ago to further my acting career and by chance fell into a bit of modeling. It’s always been fun and I love being creative with anything! So it was cool to explore a different side of the industry and play around a bit. I love music and love being around friends and family!

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I first got involved through a director friend of mine who was looking to do work, actually before that I had modeled in a few of my girlfriends’ catwalk shows and catalogue shoots for their own design labels, but just for fun. In the states it’s been more about promotion to aid in my acting career and awesome for networking, especially with so many shoots doing video montages it actually goes hand in hand modeling and acting, plus it’s fun.

Natalie-Monique wearing high heelsWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

Great question! Because it’s so bloody hard to answer! Haha, personally I just want to be happy, living life to the fullest, doing what I love around people I love, experiencing new things, traveling, adventuring, acting, modeling, writing, singing, being creative I suppose would just sum it up! And hopefully gaining a lot of industry success to allow me to continue to do what I love!

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I usually will be on a few shoots every month, and it’s always changing, which I love. The entertainer loves to be entertained! I love doing creative shoots and I’m pretty fortunate to always be changing it up, even if it’s the same style it may be a different contrasting location which gives it a new dynamic! I do few catwalks as I’m only just 5’8″ which is tall in human life, midget in model life…for catwalk anyway!

Because of my acting, the photographer and I can really bring out different personalities, for example I wore a floor-length ball gown on top of a cage in a zoo and played with different emotions so it was like glamour mixed with total grunge which made it egdy and a little more unexpected.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best experience would be every experience because as it’s been something I’ve fallen into, it’s all been a learning curve for me! I’ve gotten to do some pretty cool shoots and meet some cool people which I would consider a best! The worst as I have learned which I’m sure all models learn, is to not be taken advantage of, whether it be with poses, pay or realistically anything that you may not be comfortable with, which is a very easy thing to happen when you are first starting out, I don’t think it’s something that’s talked about as much as it needs to be especially for young girls, it’s great once you’ve learnt from your mistakes, but I definitely think these young women starting out need a stronger voice about all the do’s and don’t’s of modeling.

Natalie-Monique wearing a black dressHave you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I once got asked day of to do a road trip shoot from L.A. to Vegas in an hour as his original model had flaked, I said yes, had wet hair which I didn’t really do anything with, minimal make-up and grabbed a handful of clothes, we found this broken down water park and it turned out to be some of the best images I’ve ever had. I feel like when you’re spontaneous in a shoot, that’s when the best pictures come out. As for funny, I’m always laughing on a shoot or being silly so there’s always something funny going on!!

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

The modeling industry itself? No. I mean there are certain expectations because it’s needed to keep things or people in demand. I would love to change certain people’s opinion haha, but that’s life. It’s a business. Same as acting, they don’t call it show business for nothing. It’s probably 80% business and 20% talent, so you really can’t take anything personally, for example, if I was modeling in Japan they would want me to have no tan, whereas a beach shoot in L.A. would be like, someone get this girl into a tanning salon stat! Some things you’re gonna be right for and somethings just won’t work, it’s all about the client and more importantly the clientel they are catering for. It’s a tough industry but I’m in it more for the creativity – I feel like when you’re having fun and enjoying what you are doing that’s the most important thing.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I love Shaun T! Preach! He does all the insanity, T25, Hip Hop Abs! He’s awesome! I love to chuck on one of his dvds so I can do it at home and there’s no excuses of “not having time” and then after that try and experiment with a bit of Yoga to stretch it out and improve my flexibility and flush away any tensions or stresses, I’m fairly new to yoga, but I love what it incorporates about balance in all areas of your life, body, mind and soul. Eating healthy is the most important thing, you could look healthy and super-trim but it’s what’s on the inside! I love my fruit and veg, my lean meats, nuts and fruit are my idea of a snack!

Of course my sweet tooth is always in my ear but it’s about everything in moderation, I believe if you cut something out completely and then later introduce it again, your body just freaks out. But usually I find when I’m eating healthy and getting all the nutrients I need with herbal protein shakes, juices and vitamin supplements, the cravings for any junk food just disappear because your body already has what it wants…the good stuff! I will admit though, pasta is my weakness…I can literally be full and still see pasta and start drooling…why!

Natalie-Monique topless wearing blue pantiesPlease share something people don’t know about you.

Hi, my name is Natalie, and I’m an instagram addict! @nat_monique #shamelessplugin

Haha no but seriously something you wouldn’t know is I have skydived at 5am with a drunk instructor on my back, been a magician’s assistant, lifeguarded at a theme park, ate McDonald’s with Shaggy in Japan and made up my own voicemail rap until it was petitioned by my closest friends to be taken down… did I mention I was spontaneous?

Would you change anything about yourself?

I love myself for who and what I am, but am a firm believer in self-improvement, I’m always striving to better myself in a healthy and positive way and I’m always still learning, aren’t we all..

Have you ever gone without wearing underwear all day? Why & what did you do?

All the time! It’s very freeing. However the first time I did it was because I accidentally ripped my undies so I made my best friend take hers off too and we chucked them over the fence of a construction site, then still met our other mates out haha memories!
