Interview with Blake

Blake is a 22-year old model residing in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey everyone! My name is Blake, I’m from St. Pete, Florida, and I work at Busch Gardens Theme Park as a bartender. I have a Kawasaki zx6r 636 motorcycle and I love it!,but also had a 250 which I wrecked really bad recently but I got back on the horse! I love to play guitar, I used to do fishing charters for a deep sea company and I love to go hunting the most, I just can’t get enough. I started modeling 4 years ago randomly and it turned out good so I continued and my new stuff just keeps getting better. Anything that slows me down motivates me to get up and take over them and learn so that I can keep doing better, I don’t give up!

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I first got involved in the modeling industry about 4 years ago, when I was randomly asked to go on an island shoot where I first took off and they turned I put good, so I continued to model, I took a chance and fell in love with it.

Blake wearing a cowgirl costumeWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I find myself finishing college and hopefully becoming a shark biologist or having some type of job in the marine biology field. I did study crime, even technology but I’ve decided to follow my dreams in becoming a marine biologist, and I’ll continue to model all the way; if that takes me in a different direction, I will take the advantage and opportunity to becoming a professional model.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I will hear out any type of modeling and consider it if I feel comfortable, since if I didn’t open my mind I’d never know about the opportunities I could have missed and I mainly do photoshoots.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best experiences I’ve had in modeling are the places I get to go and then seeing the shots afterwards is exciting and always different. The worst experience I’ve had is getting into a certain spot in high heels and almost falling because I picked a dangerous spot but the shots went out so cool and original that it was worth it. Also the weather becomes a big factor: when it’s not on our side that day it makes the shoots difficult.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

About a year after my first shoot I was in a really bad motorcycle accident. I broke both arms, my pelvis, and my back because a girl was texting and driving. It was a miracle that I survived, it was a tough recovery but I made a full one, the bike was totaled and so was her car, people do this on a daily basis and they think nothing bad will happen to them but it can and it will; texting and driving is horrible and it can wait, she was 17 years old and has to live with this memory for the rest of her life. Don’t be that person!

Blake modeling a pink dressIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

If I could change anything and it comes true, there would be no such thing as scamming. People wouldn’t even have the thought in their heads.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I fish, hunt, go to the shooting range, and archery, those are my sports and my exercise and I have got to admit I didn’t eat healthy but when I did I saw a difference; it is important to eat healthy, it made me want to do more.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

A lot of people don’t know I play guitar and almost got a record deal with the people who signed Florida Georgia Line. I couldn’t take it at the time because I had a lot going on, but I love writing my own stuff and that is what got their attention.

Would you change anything about yourself?

Maybe the scars on my hands and arms that I got when my apartment caught on fire.

Do you have any fears or phobias?

As much as I love hunting I have a huge fear of spiders, there was a big one by my boot in the cabin on a trip we took, and I ran into the woods where there’s more. My friends laughed for months.

Interview with Kim Stephenson — Mom, supervisor, and part-time model

Kim Stephenson is a 24-year old model residing in Moline, Illinois.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born in Portales, New Mexico in 1990. I have lived all across the United States and have finally settled in the Quad Cities, Illinois.

I am a Module Leader, or production supervisor, at John Deere Harvester Works, which takes up a great deal of my time. I am also a full time single mother to an almost 3-year old named Keegan. He is absolutely wonderful and the most important thing in my life.

I also have a boyfriend, Rodney, who is an amazing father figure to my son. My son loves him every bit as much as me and for good reason.

In my spare time, I love to crochet, ride 4 wheelers, garden, camp -specifically old fashioned tent camping, sleeping on the ground-, and do landscaping on my house. I’d consider myself more of a tomboy with a girlish exterior and I wouldn’t have it any other way, I prefer the small town living where families are close and know all of their neighbors.

Kim Stephenson modeling a dotted dressWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I started modeling in 2010. I had always been interested in the modeling industry, but as someone who lives in a small town with not much exposure, I never knew how to get involved.

One day, a photographer that had worked with a friend of mine sent me a message on social media and loved my simple, yet intriguing, look; he wanted to have a shoot with me to add to his portfolio. I shot with him one time and got some fantastic shots, despite being very nervous with it being my first time. I then began networking online and that is when I was able to branch out, rather quickly: I got much more comfortable in shoots with more practice and developed a wide range of photos for my portfolio.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

First and foremost, I would like to be the best mother possible for my son. He is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine and I want to give him the same happy, fun-filled life that he gives me every day.

I am very proud of where I have come in my full-time job. I am, to my knowledge, the youngest person to become a production supervisor where I work. It is definitely not an easy job and requires a great deal of overtime. However, despite my accomplishment there, I secretly wish I could get more exposure and support my family with a modeling career. I thoroughly enjoy modeling and wish I had the ability to do it more often.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I used to model very often, but it has become a little more difficult with my work schedule. I have primarily done photo-shoots, although I have done some catwalks and acting. Most of what I have done is commercial modeling, but I have also done fashion, art with a lot of shadow play, and promotional.

Kim Stephenson modeling a white miniskirtPlease tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Thankfully, I haven’t had too many bad modeling experiences so I can’t necessarily name a “worst” experience. My best modeling experiences were definitely live performances I did for promotional reasons. I was hired to model for GoDaddy.com where myself and three other models dressed up as show girls and took photos with the guests at their Christmas party and got to walk around socializing with everyone. We then walked the president of the company out on a throne and introduced him to the crowd before he performed a speech for the employees. That event was featured in the Cedar Rapids Gazette.

Another great experience I had was modeling at a New Year’s party in Bettendorf, Iowa, where three other girls and myself dressed up as “disco ninjas” and interacted with the guests at the party. We could not speak, but we were required to move in cat-like movements and the costumes covered everything except our eyes. We were able to let loose and just enjoy ourselves dancing with the guests and rang in the new year with everyone there. It was a blast.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

One experience I remember was a photo-shoot in St. Louis where a group of us stopped traffic in The Loop doing a catwalk on the side walk. The drivers all stopped traffic and let us use the middle of the road to showcase a new designer’s clothing; I never expected to be walking down the middle of a busy road in St. Louis, stopping traffic.

Kim Stephenson face closeup on a streetIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I wish the industry was more accepting to the small town “girl next door”, since it is so much more difficult to become as successful as a glamour or fashion model than someone of average height who doesn’t exude the high fashion look with every step. I create just as many great images as someone five inches taller and have just as much, if not considerably more, fun in the process.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I am a big runner, I always have been and always will be; I love to take long runs listening to music and just escape reality, and I do eat healthy during the day, however I do have a tendency to cook southern comfort meals for dinner which are a little less healthy.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

Most people, unless they interact with me on a daily basis, do not know that I am extremely obsessive compulsive. I am a perfectionist, but I also have odd habits that I have never been able to break: I cannot fall asleep at night if the clock on my night stand is not on a multiple of five when I close my eyes, my brain won’t allow it. I also cannot have the radio volume in my car on an odd number, it has to be even.

Would you change anything about yourself?

My calf muscles, because they have always been larger than what I would consider average because of my running background and also my experience in high school participating in marching band. I think they’re the first muscle to start getting larger with physical exercise for me and I have always been self conscious of them.

Do you have any fears or phobias?

Most people find it weird, but I am extremely afraid of nutcrackers, the standing ones you see in stores around Christmas; I cannot walk down an aisle in a store if it has nutcrackers in it. My parents were unaware of this fear and bought a 3ft tall one to set out at Christmas time and my sister terrorized me almost daily once she found out until my parents finally got rid of it.

Interview with Ms Amanda Tea — Model, Entrepreneur and Photographer

Ms Amanda Tea is a 26-year old model residing in Chicago, Illinois.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I grew up in Chicago. Art has always been a huge part of my life. Growing up I was surrounded by drawings, painting, music, photography and film. I got exposed to a lot of great things through family and close friends. I also feel very lucky that they have been supportive of all my crazy projects.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I was nineteen years old and working at an internet cafe when a photographer who was a frequent customer was interested in the hair pieces that I make. I always had an interest in modeling since I was a fan of a lot of artists and models out there doing that kind of work. If it weren’t for meeting that photographer my portfolio wouldn’t have started.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I would love to have some of the hair-pieces and wigs from my line sold in stores! I have a lot of goals that seem really daunting right now. Like working on a short film, and creating music. I’ve always had this fantasy of being kind of like John Carpenter or Robert Rodriguez. If I was able to raise the funds I would definitely work on my ideas.

Ms Amanda Tea on rooftopsHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I sadly do not model as much as I used to. When I do it’s usually for my store Pennywigs.com or if a friend asks me. I would love to be a part of more fashion and acting projects. I have to actively look for those kind of gigs and apply for them though and finding jobs looking for an actress or model that fits my description is hard to find.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Well the best experiences for me have been when it’s a group photo shoot and kind of like a party where I get to meet a lot of other artists while creating awesome images at the same time. I always walk away learning something new by being around other models and photographers.

The worst experiences for me, which I can only blame myself for, is just not being more careful about who I chose to work with and making sure I’d be safe.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I think modeling in a public place or where there is a possibility of anyone seeing you is always interesting. You just never know what people’s reactions are going to be and I’ve had a multitude of different things happen to me while shooting but luckily most were pretty amusing.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I find the whole you have to be 5 feet 8 inch and slim to be an agency represented model to be a tad ridiculous. I think for photographs it really shouldn’t matter how tall or how slim you are. I realize that there are successful models out there who are on the shorter side and there are now successful plus size models too so I’ve felt things are getting better. Maybe for runway modeling it will always be the same but there are a lot of beautiful people out there who given the chance could bring something new and different to the table.

Ms Amanda Tea face closeupDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I used to practice Taekwondo and Hapkido. Right now I’m looking to get back into martial arts again and if not I might give dancing a more serious try so I can find something to do that is active. While exercise and nutrition are very important to your body and lifespan, I regret not treating my body as well lately. Because of what I do, I’m on the computer most of the day and get so caught up in work I always forget to take out that 30 minutes a day to exercise. No excuses though, don’t be like me! Work that bod.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I used to work at a funeral home. People don’t know how much of a movie buff I am. I’m usually pretty good with any trivia questions about film.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I’m sure everyone would like to change something about themselves. I definitely would change things if I had a magic wand. I actually appreciate body modification and though the idea of surgery sometimes scares me getting breast implants is definitely tempting.

If you had only 24 hours left to live, what would you do?

Travel and find some place to go camping. Stare at the stars.

Interview with Karishma — I am not perfect but I feel perfect

Karishma is a 24-year old model residing in Des Plaines, Illinois.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born in Chicago Illinois, moved to Texas for 13 years, and came back to the place I always felt had my heart. My family means the world to me, parents are the only ones that devote as much unconditional love as anyone possibly can and that is the thing I am most grateful for. I am a part time student studying Business as well as working at a hotel on Tuesdays, where I get paid to do homework as well as a Limo driver. I also work as a promotional model and traveling brand ambassador. Traveling is my life and if I get paid to travel, that is perfect. I utilize my time very wisely, trying to make money while doing what I love as well as weaving a safety net, in other words, school.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

In high school I struggled through bullying, leading to extreme self consciousness and self criticizing thoughts which lead to awkward relationships with people, resulting in the further decomposition of my confidence and my life. Although I was not confident, there was one place I felt confident, and that was in front of the camera.

Although I was told repeatedly I would never be good enough by my peers, I did it, and this persistence is now making me great side income.

Through years of finding who I am, rebuilding my confidence, and realizing that the series of unfortunate events made me stronger as a person and more compassionate towards others, I am who I am today, and I am so thankful for it. Modeling has given me the ability to have a little bit of confidence, which I used and grew throughout my life, helping me succeed in other aspects of my journey in life. I believe confidence is attractive, ego is not.

Karishma next to a water fountainWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My personal goals include being able to sharpen my skill sets to not just work, but to live life how I want while making money to support my love for traveling.
Within the next 5 to ten years I see myself traveling the world, making interpersonal connections, making money and investments to fulfill the first four needs on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, eventually being able to fulfill that equilibrium in life, complete Self actualization. I am not just trying to be a model, but a role model.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I do modeling whenever my schedule permits and it consists of getting paid to do what I love. I couldn’t ask for more. I do photo shoots, video, working on acting, catwalks -If they allow for models under 5’7- and all sorts of modeling including Art, Editorial, Fashion, Fitness, Glamour, Hair and Makeup, Lifestyle, Parts Modeling, Pinup, Promotional Modeling, Runway, Spokesperson and Host, Sports, Stunt, Underwater.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Best: Being able to travel for work as a promotional model as well as being able to work for a good cause -Breast cancer awareness calendar for Harley Davidson for the 3rd year-.
Worst: Creepy and borderline unprofessional photographers when I first started modeling. But I can pretty much weed them out right about now.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Lots of things. Every gig has a story, not just mine, but the brands as well, which I like learning about when I do model for them. Networking is key.

Karishma modeling a necklace and black blouseIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Yes, I would promote models of all different shapes and sizes and encourage women to love themselves more and not have unrealistic expectations for themselves.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I like to work out as well as yoga and meditation. I personally have been very thin all my life naturally and I’ve always wanted to gain weight. But eating healthy and working out the right way according to my body’s goals, which is strength training in my case- I can improve my physical appearance and wellness. The mind, body, and soul is all important to me, resulting in that perfect equilibrium in my life.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I’m pretty much an open book, I love learning about myself and have people learn from my experiences.

One thing some people may not know is I think very deeply. I used to think it was a curse to think too much and feel so deeply about things. But I take it as a curse and a blessing. With yin there’s yang and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Would you change anything about yourself?

24 and still trying to better myself. 74 and I’ll be doing the same. Accept what you can’t change. But be willing to take constructive criticism to change what you can. Self improvement is the name of the game

Where is the weirdest place you’ve ever peed?

On the rocks… at the beach.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

In the beginning when I had no clue what I was doing, I was scared and didn’t know how to move while shooting. The photographer had to tell me to calm down and played music for me.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Tripping over myself. I’m pretty sure I’ve done that a few times.

Interview with Victoria Catherine — Sales Manager by day Model by night

Victoria Catherine is a 23-year old model residing in Tampa, Florida.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Victoria Catherine, I’m 23 years old, born and raised in Seattle Washington! Go Seahawks!! I currently live in sunny Tampa, Florida with my Australian Shepherd named Riley who I adore. I guess the best way to describe me is that I’m an independent business woman. I love being successful and knowing that I did it all by myself. I work in sales as a main job but when I realized how easy and flexible modeling was I jumped right into it. It’s great side money and plus I enjoy getting all done up and feeling uber sexy. I’m very active. I enjoy bike rides, rock climbing, hiking, and snorkeling or diving. I have a boat which Riley and I love taking out in the gulf of Mexico. Despite my active lifestyle I don’t mind curling up with a glass of Pinto Nior while binge watching Netflix. As a Sagittarius born on Dec 11, 1991 I’m known as the international traveler, which couldn’t be more accurate. If I could spend my entire life traveling the world and meeting new people I would.

Victoria Catherine in bondageWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I had no interest in modeling, in fact as a young girl I was a big tom boy. I played every sport and swore I’d never wear a dress to prom. That didn’t last long, when my parents moved the family to Florida, my entire lifestyle changed. It was when I was at the mall with a friend of mine when a man approached us asking us if we had ever had an interest in modeling. I laughed and thought the guy was a creep. He gave my friend his card and she ultimately called and booked a session with him. When I saw how her pictures turned out I too decided to give it a try. The second I got behind the camera I instantly took a liking to it. I was surprisingly “naturally photogenic” the photographer told me. My mom and I proceeded to find an agent to sign with. Never managing to land the right one my career never really took off. I found that I could find my own gigs better than my agent and I didn’t have to give them a cut. Ever since, I’ve been managing myself. I’ve done quite a few promotional gigs and was even featured in a few European magazines.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My ultimate goal when it comes to Modeling is being on the cover of Maxim or Sports Illustrated. If modeling doesn’t work out in that way, I’d like to be on the cover of Forbes with an article discussing my fortune five hundred company that I’ll have one day.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

Like I said Modeling is more of a hobby or side job if you will, so I’m not focusing as much on it as of late. However, I’m planning on pursuing it a little more and see where it takes me. I got into acting in College and that’s where I’ve had the most fun in my career. It’s just unfortunate that Florida’s not a very good market for acting which makes it very difficult to find projects to work on. With modeling I’ve done several promotional stuff which is what I find pays the best for me but if I had a choice I’d love to do really neat creative photo shoots. Glamorous artistic shoots. I love big hair and crazy makeup.

Victoria Catherine modeling a brown bikiniPlease tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best experience I’ve had modeling was when I modeled Gabbi swimwear designs in a fashion show. I love rocking the catwalk. I had cameras flashing and lights everywhere with music blasting, I was in the zone. Such a fun experience one I’ll never forget. My worst experience had to be when I was shooting a Great Depression shoot and it was at least 90 degrees in this tent they had set up for us to shoot in. It was a semi romantic/depressing shoot. We spent hours in this 90 degree tent with 4 other people trying to get the shot just right. By the time we got the shot my makeup was melting off my face, my hair was a frizzy mess, and I felt gross and grimy. The pictures ultimately came out great but man was that the most antagonizing shoot I’ve ever done. That’s the price you pay when you’re a model, people think it’s all fun and games but only if they knew.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Oh yeah, once I was shooting on a surf board off the shore a little bit and a big wave came blasting through, knocked me clear off the board and when I surfaced my boob had popped out. I was a little dazed and confused and hadn’t even noticed until the photographer I was shooting with pointed it out. I was so embarrassed. At the time I was only 18 so being young and in High School still it was traumatizing.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Honestly the industry today is what we’ve made it. Women in magazines have been portrayed as sex symbols since Marilyn Monroe was discovered. I don’t think it’s gonna change any time soon but if I had a say I’d censor it a little more. Call me old fashion but I like the 60’s and 70’s pin up models. I like the bikini models that didn’t have to pull down their bottoms to show their vagina lines peaking through. Women are sexy without having to be naked. Sure sex sells and I’m not saying I don’t like seeing it myself I just wish they classed it up a bit. I think it’s gotten almost distasteful over the years.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

Haha my motto is I’m young and have a good metabolism so I eat whatever the hell I want. Sorry but life is too short to not enjoy all the delicacies the world has to offer. I’m sure it will catch up with me some day but until that day comes carpe diem. But I do tend to stay fit. I love being active. While I don’t slave away at the gym I do run, bike, and rock climb almost everyday.

Victoria Catherine climbing in a bathroomPlease share something people don’t know about you.

I have a strange obsession with touching things… like I’ll be in the grocery store and if it’s shiny or stands out in anyway I feel this sudden urge to touch it.

Would you change anything about yourself?

Sure I could say I hate my nose, or I can’t stand the fact that one foot is bigger than the other, or that one shoulder blade is higher than the other but you know what, that’s me. That’s what makes me unique. I’m happy with my overall self at the moment.

If you had only 24 hours left to live, what would you do?

I think it would be such a blessing to know the exact moment I will be taken from this world because I’d be able to let go and live the life I’d always wanted! The first thing I’d do if I knew I only had 24 hours left to live is drop everything and fly to a destination that I hadn’t visited yet. Hopefully it won’t be too far that way I won’t spend too much time on an airplane, which would have to be First Class, by the way. I’m sure it would be somewhere tropical like Central America or even South America. Once there I’d scuba dive with sharks and explore what the deep sea has to offer. I’d jet ski naked. Do tons of alcoholic shots! Marry a stranger. I’d go horse back riding in the ocean. I’d hike a mountain in the rain forest. I’d try to leave some sort of mark on this world. And then I’ll die peacefully in an underwater bungalow.

Interview with Elizabeth Arey — College student, waitress, model

Elizabeth Arey is a 22-year old model residing in Kennesaw, Georgia.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born in Alabama, to a military family. I grew up in Belgium and traveled a lot while I was a kid, which I really enjoyed. I was a competitive equestrian for 16 years, horse riding is definitely my greatest passion. I love to draw and design, very creative. I am currently a waitress and I go to school full time for Public Relations.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I started on Model Mayhem, which I would NOT recommend to any young girl. It worked out for me, but Model Mayhem is not a place for young girls. It can be very sketchy. But then my old agent found me on Facebook!

Elizabeth Arey modeling short jeans and pink topWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I want to be successful, in whatever I choose to do and I want to have a family at some point. The ultimate goal is to just have a full and interesting life.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I usually try to have a few photoshoots a month, as long as it coincides with my work and school schedule. I typically do photoshoots, but I do runway as well.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

I have had some wonderful experiences, but some bad ones as well. The bad consisting of photographers trying to inappropriately trying to touch me – which I won’t go into detail about. The best consisting of doing a runway show for Banana Republic, and getting to go to Vegas with the team I worked for with a suit designer.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I honestly don’t think so, other than me breaking out into random dance in the model of a photoshoot

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

The way they view women, with the weight issue. We should think all women are beautiful, no matter what. Stick skinny is not what everyone looks like, and while I am tiny, I do not starve myself and I do not try to be something I’m not.

Elizabeth Arey wearing a sweater and red lingerieDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I was a horse rider for a long time, and I still ride every now and then when I have time. I walk about 25000 steps in one evening shift alone as a waitress, and I run and workout as often as I can to stay healthy. Typically I stick to healthy foods, my boyfriend is a personal trainer so he helps me a lot with nutrition.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

That I LOVE cars! Especially old ones, and I drive a 6 speed manual transmission!

Would you change anything about yourself?

No. The way that I look makes me who I am. And anything that I would want to change is easily fixable by running or working out.

Are you currently in a relationship? How would you describe your partner?

I am currently in a relationship, he is a model as well. He is my best friend, the most special person I’ve ever come across in my life and I’ve been privileged enough to meet tons of people. He is smart, hardworking and dedicated to everything he does.

Interview with Sammie J — Water sport fanatic and model

Sammie J is a 25-year old model residing in Destin, Florida.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m Sammie and I was born in Birmingham AL, now living in Florida. Since I was a kid, I’ve always loved to drive boats; in fact I’ve been driving boats before I could properly talk. My hobbies also include cars -I’m working on getting my racing license with Porsche-, as well as fishing, wakeboard, kneee board, and in general anything on the water I’ve probably done -that’s why my dad says I’m a little fish-. Currently I am attending school for dog grooming, and will eventually open my own shop once I complete the program.

Sammie J holding an electric guitarWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I got involved with modeling about 5 years ago. The International Bikini Model Search came to my town, and had a bikini contest as well as a photo shoot afterwards. I had so much fun I just couldn’t stop there.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My goals are to become a groomer, race car driver, and eventually a captain. My modeling isn’t my priority, but if I make it in the industry that would be pretty cool. I enjoy meting the new people and being able to have pictures to show my children and grand children one day.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I do photo shoots, and something I love is getting into the character, although I also love just being myself. Currently I try and model as much as I can, as much as 3 shoots in a week or even just once a month, but I do not do any nudes, though.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

My best experience was a big shoot out I went to where all the girls were so nice, we had a lot of fun, and we had to play with cars and there were so many different locations to shoot.

My worst experience was one of my very first shoots, when I went with a girl I sort of knew to a mansion and took pictures all day. Then it came down to being in the bed room and I felt very uncomfortable, took a picture I didn’t really want to take, and then the photographer wouldn’t give me the pictures. In the end I payed him $500 to make him send me my pictures. After that experience, I have learned not to trust everyone who seems like a good person.

Sammie J dressed as a mechanicHave you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I’ve had a lot of funny things happen to me, and every shoot I go to is always an adventure.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I wish photographers wouldn’t be so mean to overweight models; that is something that hurts my feelings, and I consider those girls have just as much potential as I do, and to be honest, not everyone looks like me. Take that back… lots of people are overweight.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I’m a very active person, always doing something; from building furniture, to water sports, horseback riding and the list goes on. My favorite food is hamburgers!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I performed the nutcracker on Broadway when I was younger.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I would change my boobs, but I don’t want to at the same time, since I know it will bring me back problems… I think I’m OK just the way I am.

If you were the opposite sex for one day, what would you do?

Everything a man would do, I’ve always wanted to be a dude for one day, like what does it feel like to have that stuff just hanging there?

Interview with Cia Lee — Gamer model with 13 pets

Cia Lee is a 24-year old model residing in Coral Springs, Florida.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I am a Middle Eastern and Russian model who has too many pets. I am professionally represented and have walked for Miami Fashion and Swim Week, Art Basel and quite a few others. Aside from modeling I have a stream on Twitch.tv/katsallday where I have a nice fanbase building. I was born in Hollywood FL.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I was scouted at age 12 to be a model for a Hawaiian photoshoot. I have been working ever since.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

Well, honestly in 5 years I hope to be working full time in my own no kill animal shelter. Matter of fact that’s what I would be doing 10 years from now too. As for modeling in 5 years, hey if they still want me I’m down.

Cia Lee modeling sunglasses in the cityHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I’m a runway model mainly, but will do avant garde edgy photoshoots too. I’ve done a couple campaigns for websites and I even hair model. I book about 1 to 2 big runways a month, with over 200 in audience, and 5 to 10 photoshoots.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Best experience – Walking Art Basel in Miami, where I wore a rock cast skirt that was impossible to bend your legs in. Two security guards had to lift me up onto the stage. I did my walk, turned around and the guards were gone. I had to jump off the stage in 6 inch heels. The crowd went crazy and I didn’t break my ankle!

Worst experience- I don’t think I have one. Maybe that one time when I twisted my toe back on stage and had to endure the pain forever after while people took pics.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I walked a bikini show in Miami for a swimwear company. It was at a hotel pool. They chose me to jump into the pool on my return walk. It was on tv. So cool.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I think I would like to change the agency fee; 20% is a lot when your pay is more than a few hundred.

Cia Lee wearing jeans in the countrysideDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

Ok, this is where I differ from most models. I beat anorexia in my teens and I cannot diet due to it. I eat what I want when I want and I’ve found that my body will stop me before I eat too much. If I want to eat a deep fried twinkie and wash it down with cherry coke I will. I’m lucky to have a body that doesn’t gain weight too easily. I don’t exercise. I have a mild heart condition. Honestly I wake up, eat, play video games, walk the dog, eat, maybe model, maybe play more video games then I eat and sleep. That’s a day in the life of me.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I have automatonophobia. Im afraid of when robots take over the world. They will.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I would change my heart condition. And my feet are wayyy too small for my height so I’m kinda clumsy; 5’11 and a size 8 shoe.

What superpower do you wish you had? Why?

I wish I could hover. Not even fly. Just hover. I have a DnD 3.5 character named Lee, she has hoverboots. I want to hover like her.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I started while living in Pembroke Pines, Florida in 2009. My friend Von Clinton is an amazing photographer who took my first professional photos. I like being the center of attention for a little while so runways always make me happy.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I will have my Doctorate’s degree in psychology and hopefully be modeling at least part time, if not full time.

Sasha wearing black jeans in a streetHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

Right now I have not being modeling as much as I want. I just moved to the San Antonio area so I need to get acclaimed to the area first. But once I get settled I will start doing photo shoots more often.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best experience I have had was doing a runway show for a Caribbean company in Fort Lauderdale. I met so many beautiful models and the atmosphere was great. We didn’t know each other but it was amazing. No matter what I’m wearing on stage I feel amazing with all eyes on me.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I’m so lucky that I have not. Don’t wanna jinx myself though.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Yes I would. If I could change anything it would be that there are more plus size models. Big women are beautiful and they should be showing the world their confidence in a bikini photo shoot. This would help empower bigger females and let them know they are beautiful.

Sasha modeling a black dressDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I practice volleyball and soccer. I eat anything and everything. I love candy, fruits and vegetables. I also love Chinese food.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I have been in hype hair magazine a couple times. Not a feature but one day I will get there.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I would not change anything about my body. I love me the way I am. Now if God made me with a little more boobs I would not complain…

What is the longest you have gone without taking a bath?

About 3 days. It was a bet between me and my friends.
