Interview with Natalie Berg

Natalie Berg is a 21-year old model residing in Laguna Beach, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hello! My name is Natalie. I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and shortly moved to Palm Springs, California after that. I have a younger sister who is 14 and we are extremely close, and of course my parents! I grew up playing tennis as my dad is a tennis pro in Palm Springs and where we live in the summer, Lake Tahoe, so I love playing tennis and just doing anything outdoors.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I started being noticed by other people when I was very young, probably around 5 or 6 years old and I can remember loving being in front of the camera as long as I can remember. I first got involved by going to an agency in my town and getting some head shots done and doing a few small odd jobs through them but most of the work that I have done in magazines and other things have come from me networking and working hard on my own to be honest.

As much as I love modeling and hope to continue it for 5 more years, I am planning on finishing school in San Diego in January and getting my Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. I’m hoping this will open more doors for me job wise and if modeling follows then so be it!

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I used to model a lot more, usually shoots once a month or more. But currently as I write this I’m in Lake Tahoe, Nevada for the summer relaxing and working up here! When I get home to Southern California where it is more prevalent, I will definitely continue and I have a few shoots lined up for when I do. I mostly do glamour photoshoots, now modeling brands for magazines and other, but when I was younger I did commercials and a bit more of acting gigs.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

I have had some amazing experiences, I love getting my hair and makeup done and wearing amazing clothes. I have been at some pretty incredible on set locations, and just thought to myself  “Wow I’m so lucky to get paid for this!” One that was pretty terrible was working hard all day to never get paid at the end which I was promised… I mean it was fun and all but come on!

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I can’t think at the moment of anything super funny or embarrassing happen to me but I definitely have dealt with many types of people, and have learned a lot of life lessons from it; all of which I learned from.

I would change the industry to being a little bit easier to break into and possibly more kind because I know I have walked away from castings being heartbroken, or I have been on the other side of things where I have seen girls heartbroken as well.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

Nutrition and exercise is extremely important to me. I try to workout 4 to 5 times a week just to maintain my sanity in general; it makes me feel good. I love to run, and I love yoga and pilates, nothing crazy. I also do squats. As for nutrition, I don’t follow any regimen but I try to eat mostly gluten free and I don’t eat late at night. Lots of fruits and veggies! yum!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

Interesting fact! I’m half australian! my father lives in Sydney, Australia!

Would you change anything about yourself (physical or otherwise) if you could?

Never! God made me how I am and I love me!

What is your favorite thing to do alone?

I’m secretly a nerd.
