Interview with Rachel Ray — Biomedical engineer model

Rachel Ray is a 20-year old model residing in Chula Vista, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Greetings! My name is Rachel Rain Eyes but I go by Rachel Ray. I was born in San Juan Puerto Rico but will always remain as a Cali girl! Raised in San Diego. I live with my parents and little sister. My mom is the program director for a nonprofit organization, Stepping Higher, the Secretary to my church Total Deliverence. My father is retired navy as a master chief and karate instructor. I have a younger sister, Emariah, who is currently in high school studying to be a Marine. And 2 older half brothers. Roger, the oldest, is in the Army. And the youngest, Jerry, is a physical fitness instructor with his own company called SciFit. I am studying at the JC Southwestern college as a Biomedical Engineer. Afterwards I will be transferring to UCSD. As I am truely dedicated into my studies I am also intrigued by every aspect of the fashion world. I enjoy modeling, putting pieces together, doing hair and make up. I love making people look and feel beautiful. I also enjoy playing and watching sports, surfing, rock climbing, shopping, working out, and cooking.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I started modeling when I was 18. Alot of people kept bugging me to do photo shoots and runways. So one day I decided to do a photo shoot and had so much fun that I decided to do more. I loved the clothes, the pictures, and how beautiful I looked. It was a major confidence boost.

Rachel Ray in underwearWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

Personal goals: I see myself married and starting to have kids by 24.

Professional goals: I plan on having my career and finish college with my masters by 24. Also plan on running and winning Miss America within that time frame.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I am constantly doing photo shoots and runways. I have about 2 runways by the end of August including a photo shoot. I do just about everything except erotic and nudes.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

My worst experience with modeling was when I went to do a video shoot and the guys where drunk. I thank God I didn’t go alone to the shoot. But it was very unprofessional!

My best experience with modeling was when I did a runway for my friend’s cousin. During the runway I impressed this exclusive designer that she invited me to walk for her runway on fashion week. Very exciting moment!!

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

All I have is funny moments within modeling. My funniest moment had to be when I was doing a fashion photo shoot, the photographer tripped on the background. He fell so dramatic that it seemed to be in slow motion. I laughed so hard!!

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I would change how the models take care of themselves. I rather them be healthy than have eating disorders because they want to be skinny.

Rachel Ray on the beachDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I work out and train to be a walk on to UCSD. I run the 400 in track. Therefore I always eat healthy! Sometimes I like to slip on my healthy habits every once in a while; however I work it off later on the next day. It is very important to take care of your body! Your body goes through a lot during the day. The more grease and unhealthy food you eat the more sick and sluggish you feel. That’s why you want to eat the right nutrition your body needs to feel more energized and look amazing.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I am multi talented in every area. I can sing, dance, draw, style hair and clothes, and can cook. Beauty and Brains with a hint of athletic abilities wrapped in one!

Would you change anything about yourself?

I love who and how I am. I wouldn’t change anything about me..

If you were the opposite sex for one day, what would you do?

If I was a man, I would be the sexiest man alive! I would do anything and everything. I would get a girlfriend and actually experience what it truely feels like to be on the other side of the relationship. I would truely understand what it feels to be a man and try to have some compassion for women. I would try to make the woman feel like there is at least 1 guy in the world that didn’t act like a jerk. But besides that I’ll probably be conceded and enjoy what’s inbetween my legs.
