Interview with Savannah Bice — Fitness, finance, and full-time model

Savannah Bice is a 19-year old model residing in Saint Louis, Missouri.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born in a small town in Missouri, since then I have moved to the Saint Louis area where I have pursued several different ventures, and after finding out that the basis for any success was my networking connections, I started applying it to my modeling and acting career. Although I have a high interest in finance and fitness, I found myself day dreaming about the world of modeling and acting. Now I do my best to combine my businesses, modeling, acting, and traveling.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I started out auditioning for a modeling and acting agency when I was 15, after a while I started networking outside of my agency to land photo shoots. I grew up with a desire to be in magazines and movies. I look at modeling and acting as my artistic and expressive side and I like to explore them through my work.

Savannah Bice lying on a treeWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My personal goals are to maintain a healthy lifestyle and have the flexibility to travel very often. I plan to finish up my undergraduate degree in finance and I plan to graduate with my MBA by next year (2017). I take education very seriously and it has been very compatible with my other interests; I want to own my own business within the next five years and further my career as a model. I also take my health very seriously so that I can stay in shape for modeling and acting. In the next ten years, I will have a steady modeling career, and plan on modeling for fitness, gown, and swimsuit companies.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

On average, I have at least five shoots a month, and I model primarily fitness, glamour, fashion, and swimsuits. I have recently decided to start acting in web series to see if I have a connection to it, while also participating in pageants to get experience on stage and expose myself to new environments.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best experiences I have had are modeling for a dress boutique. I love modeling beautiful wedding and prom gowns and that experience allowed me to do so, while I also competed at the Miss Missouri USA pageant and that was an amazing experience to meet other models in the industry and learn new things about modeling. My worst experiences have been, on a few occasions, photographers not acting in a professional manner. I take my job seriously and I do not like it when people try to undermine me or act unprofessional. It has only happened to me a few times, but I do my best to spot it early before working with a person.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

During one of my first auditions at my agency when I was 15, I went in to read a cold script for a potential commercial contract. I ended up completely forgetting the whole script and running out of the room without a second thought. Ever since then I have had to work up the courage to start acting again.

Savannah Bice at the beachIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

The industry is tough and only a few people can actually make a living out of it, but if the industry wasn’t hard, then almost anyone would try to be a model or actress. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication in this industry and I wouldn’t change that. I have worked in other industries and there is negativity in every different kind of business.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I have been a competitive cheerleader and now I run cross country. In order to run for hours I have to maintain a very balanced diet so that I can exercise vigorously. Along with a strong running routine, I have to incorporate a lot of strength training so that I can also tone up. I like to eat a lot, but in order to keep my figure I eat a lot of proteins and veggies, while I’m also a big fan of keeping healthy by taking vitamins and staying active altogether. I care about my health because of my modeling, but also because I know it is important to any balanced lifestyle.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I am a huge book nerd, and I read 2 to 3 books every month. I believe I learned most of what I know through the books that I read. I am a big fan of literature by J.R.R. Tolkien, and the best movies that I see today are based on books and that is what sparks my interest in acting. After reading a book I can understand and relate to the characters in the book and I believe that is a major key in acting. Some of my other favorites include James Dashner’s The Maze Runner and The Eye of Minds series and Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies Series.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I could list a million and one things about my physical appearance or life in general that I would wish to change. But seeing as though I cannot change them, I like to work with what I have got.

If you had only 24 hours left to live, what would you do?

If I had 24 hours left to live I would buy a plane ticket and take my family to New Zealand. If there is one place I want to visit before I die it would be New Zealand. The natural beauty of the country is enough to make anyone fall in love with it, but it is also where the Lord of the Rings were filmed. I would take all my saved up money and take a helicopter around the whole country since that would be the fastest way to see everything.

Interview with Linda Dao — “Asian Persuasion” Model

Linda Dao is a 23-year old model residing in Jacksonville, Florida.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

My family is from Vietnam but I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, a city that definitely has my heart. I’m 23 and the oldest of two; I have a younger sister named Julie with whom I’m 8 years apart. I work full-time as a banker but during my free time I enjoy: reading, catching up on my shows, mainly Scandal and Empire, working out and spending quality time with friends and family. Outside of that I am a dedicated student and an aspiring model.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

Growing up I have always been intrigued by modeling, one of my favorite shows, “America’s Next Top Model”, I could and would literally sit and watch it for hours on end. When I was about 12 years old, my mom put me through modeling school. Although nothing really blossomed from that particular modeling agency, it definitely opened many doors of opportunity for me. Since then the rest is history.

Linda Dao modeling a gray bikiniWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My all time goal is to travel the world, but of course that’ll have to be after I finish Pharmacy school.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

Currently I do mainly glamour; lingerie, fashion and swimsuit photo shoots. I am definitely open to doing different types of modeling. I was taught a model should be multi-faceted.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

I’ve heard many horrible stories from other models but I have been blessed so far to have yet experience a bad modeling gig. Hopefully it stays that way.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I think my funniest and most embarrassing modeling experience has to be the time I auditioned for one of Pepsi commercials. The director called for another Linda, but I was so nervous and caught up in my thoughts that I thought he called for me. I acted out the entire script and was completely in the zone, until I heard the director say “You’re great, if only it was your turn to go”. We all laughed about it but it was still pretty embarrassing.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I would make it more versatile. Everyone is made differently and is beautiful in his or her own way. I don’t believe that there should be a set standard. Embrace the beauty and body God gave you.

Linda Dao modeling a black dress black and white photoDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I am not a health freak by any means but I do try to stay active, eat clean and live a healthy lifestyle. Just like with everything else, there has to be a balance, but that’s not to say I don’t enjoy a good cheat meal every now and then.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I have a very old soul. Although my life is consumed with technology I still like receiving letters in the mail. I honestly believe I should have been born in the 50’s.

Would you change anything about yourself?

No, I am by no means perfect but I love me.

What is the one talent you wish you possessed?

I can’t sing, but I tend to get lost in music. I could only imagine what it would be if I could sing really well. Only one can wish right?

Interview with Madeline M — Entrepreneur Model

Madeline M is a 25-year old model residing in Los Angeles, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born and raised for 21 years in a small town called Healdsburg where I grew up knowing that the vineyards were the fences of my home. It’s a beautiful place to grow up. Although, you learn to appreciate and be grateful where you come from when you get a taste of the fast city life -Los Angeles- but I knew it as, La La Land. I enjoyed outdoor activities from Camping, Kayaking, Fire safety, hiking, and more. I enjoyed the Theatre, Broadway, Dance, and Film. I picked up the hobbies such as Makeup Artistry, Film, Acting, Dance, and Poi Spinning.

Madeline M modeling a black thongWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I was a makeup artist and I worked with models from agency approved photographers in LA. I saw and learned first hand how it all worked. Knowing what I know now, I can bring way more to the table than I could before. LA is a whole other package to endure. It was for years though that I would hear once in a while, whether in my video production class or doing makeup gigs, that my face needed to be in front instead of behind the camera. So… I took a shot with my friend called courage.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I want to be my own product, just being me, but collaborate with amazing talented artists from around the world no matter how small the sketches are.. I want to create something big with the creative concepts I can put into my modeling for your eyes to see but developed with an amazing team. Maybe in 5 to 10 years I’m my own boss to other beautiful model creatures that are also trying to be something in LA, but it’s their stories that they tell which make them beautiful.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

As often as I can and depends on the creativity of the work and who the photographer or filmmakers port is like.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I am on a gluten free diet and do poi, dance, and acyro yoga

Madeline M showing her long hairWould you change anything about yourself?

I tried that and someone upstairs took it away and said it’s not normal too.

Where is the weirdest place you’ve ever peed?

Alright… Paint the picture… It’s raining and my boyfriend and I are camping. well, I have to pee and it’s definitely cold, raining, and wet outside. There’s a tarp that is covering the top of the tent but the opening is by the door so the tarp is able to move as it dangles. My boyfriend and I have been doing a lot of acyro yoga, so suddenly, an idea came to play. Why not hold my arms and I’ll squat my butt out of the tent door and just pee. I mean, the tent was on a hill and there was a tarp on top AND bottom, so that meant everything would wash and run downhill. My boyfriend is just down with the whole idea right away, I mean I really had to go and I just didn’t want to dress and go out in the rain. So there I go, I squat out my butt, the top tarp that dangles down is against my bare butt and my arms are extended out to my boyfriend who is just holding me with a firm grip while I pee outside the tent and it runs downhill…. I was a genius in those woods….

Interview with Paraseau Bear — Fiery Phoenix w a Heart of Gold

Paraseau Bear is a 25-year old model residing in Los Angeles, Callifornia.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi I’m Paraseau. I’m an image and sound maker residing in Los Angeles. I love telling stories.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I became involved in modeling when I realized I’d get jealous of the girls auditioning for roles on the music videos and other projects I was making that I to wanted to be a work of art, an object of art as well as a creator of art. Jealousy I quickly transmute to inspiration and motivation and began pursuing a career in front of camera.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

In five or ten years, I’d love to be gracing magazine covers, touring the world to sold out stadiums, collaborating with the most amazing designers, tour managers, costume designers, producers, and directors. My idols will become my creative family and I’ll start a family of my own. I’ll be proud of the woman I’ve become and what I’ve contributed to the world one day at a time through full surrender to the greatness bursting through me.

Paraseau Bear upside downHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

Fashion, swimsuit, lingerie, editorial. I also act commercially and theatrically.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

I’ve only had good experiences. I’ve learned so much about myself how to best support and express myself, take care of myself, how to collaborate creatively and artistically with others and how to be a living, breathing, moving work of art and grace.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

There are always embarrassing moments in set, trying to give the photographer what she or he wants, doing quick changes in odd places. It’s definitely an exercise in fully accept myself and owning my power and knowing every outtake just helps build laughter and relationships. Like I used to do this funny growling face that I thought was fierce until a photographer showed me what it looked like and it just looked… Weirdly demented. I had to laugh it off and find another look for the moment. You gotta be able to laugh at yourself, be easy, and relax into your happiness for the camera.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I think it’s great. I’m really happy that more sizes and shapes are being embraced. I’m curvy and have such striking features like red hair, I often thought about modeling but thought I wasn’t the “right type”. Turns out the industry recognizes beauty as beauty. Simpler than the voices in my head at the time.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I have been a student of yoga most of my life, and lately I’ve been running in the hills around my house several times weekly. I also took up ballet and hip hop. I love the discipline and the freedom, respectively. I also love that it’s a fluid moving art form and I get to be the embodiment of that art form.

I’m vegan and gluten free and all that other stuff that being in the industry in LA lends itself toward. It feels good in my heart and body to eat clean.

Paraseau Bear wearing a yellow dress and blue hatPlease share something people don’t know about you.

Although in a red head with light skin, my family grew up in and around Native American reservations most of my life due to my parents’ careers. So that culture and the spiritual practices of the tribes we lived with are very much a part of who I am.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I would maybe be a little less stubborn, but it’s a family trait and a lot of beautiful things have come out of the tenacity of it as well.

I would also maybe be a little more trusting of the Universe and not feel like I need to work hard at things and instead love in grace a little more.

If you were the opposite sex for one day, what would you do?

If I was the opposite sex for one day, I would make love to the most beautiful and kindest woman I know, I would wear the best business suit and walk into a meeting like I owned the place, and I would pee standing and write obnoxious things in the snow with my urine, I’d pull the move that the dude in American psycho does during sex and watch myself flex muscles in the mirror, and then I’d finally take a kid or a grandparent or both out to ice cream and pick up the kid and toss them in the air a few times. I might also dress like a girl and just see what kind of looks is get from people.

Interview with Kensi Chez — Collegiate Pole Vaulter Turned Model

Kensi Chez is a 21-year old model residing in San Diego, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Kensi Chez, I was born and raised in California. I have two brothers one older and one younger, I am stuck in the middle. They are very important to me, because of them I am motivated to accomplish all of my goals. My older brother is the reason why I found my main passion in life, pole vaulting. I pole vaulted all throughout high school and two years in college. Now I am a coach at a high school and I love my job.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I started modeling when I was eighteen years old. I went with my best friend to one of her shoots and thought it was the coolest thing. The next thing I know I began modeling too.

Kensi Chez wearing a flowered dressWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

In ten years I will have my masters in Finance and hopefully be coaching pole vaulting at a collegiate level.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I do a photo shoot about once every week. The types of shoots I do depend on who the photographer is. If it is the first time I am shooting someone I usually stick to casual, fashion, or swimsuit shoots. If I am shooting with a photographer I have shot with before I am a lot more opened to lingerie or implied work. I also recently started doing fashion shows, those are a blast.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

My best experience modeling was when I did a partner shoot with my best girlfriend who is also a model. We both brought out the best in each other and we never stopped laughing. It is always so fun working with her.

My worst experience was one of my very first shoots, I usually like to bring an escort when I meet new photographers, and this photographer was so offended by me asking if it was ok if I do that. I ended up not shooting with him because of it.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

One time I was at a beach photo shoot, and I was in my bikini and the photographer wanted me to lie on the sand by the water. I lied there, we got a few shots, then out of nowhere a giant wave came and drenched me. My makeup and hair was ruined and the photographer got pictures of the whole thing happening, it was hilarious.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I would stop editing pictures in magazines. Women are beautiful the way they are and their imperfectionsKensi Chez wearing a red dress are what make them unique.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

When I am not pole vaulting, I am a huge crossfit and olympic weight lifting enthusiast. Most women think lifting weights will make them buff and manly looking but it doesn’t, it is one of the greatest things a woman can do, after those workouts you feel like you can conquer anything that is put in your way.

My diet is different than most models, I am a human garbage disposal. I generally eat healthy, but I have those days when all I do is binge on junk food. I think nutrition is an extremely important factor in my life, I grew up with a very health conscious family and they taught me one of the best things to do for yourself is to eat healthy.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

When I was fifteen I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. For the longest time I was really embarrassed of it because, well, if you have ever had a panic attack in front of somebody that isn’t your family it’s very embarrassing. It also made me feel like there was something wrong with me. While I was in high school I learned techniques to help with preventing panic attacks. When I graduated high school I decided to work really hard and learn to maintain my depression. It was a lot of hard work but I conquered both anxiety and depression, and I have never felt better.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I wouldn’t change a thing, every part of me is unique.

If you had only 24 hours left to live, what would you do?

I would find Micheal Fassbender -the guy who plays Magneto in the new X Men movies- and ask him to marry me. Hey, it won’t hurt to try.

Interview with Rachael Elise — Glamour and swimwear model

Rachael Elise is a 21-year old model residing in Los Angeles, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi there! My name is Rachael Elise. I currently live in Hollywood, born in San Dimas, and raised in Northern California, all of them in California. I love to hike, play sports and drink wine! Currently I attend school, will be graduating in September and pursuing a career in modeling.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I began modeling at a very young age, and began fashion modeling. As my looks changed I was more suitable for swim and lingerie modeling. I began appearing in music videos for various artists, and doing print work for local companies. I continue to do large amounts of print and video work to this day.

Rachael Elise wearing a green swimsuitWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My personal goals are to find that special someone, and to share my life with that person, and in the next few years start a family. I also hope to broaden my horizons when it comes to modeling, I would like to travel the world and experience new things.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

Currently I do 1 to 2 jobs weekly. From music videos, promo modeling, glamour print and commercial work. I try to keep myself well rounded, 1 to 2 times a year I’ll walk for different designers in LA fashion week or other private fashion shows.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

I Got the opportunity to work with amazing glamour models along with well known recording artists from Chris Brown, The Wanted, Baby Bash and many more. No negative experiences so far, fingers crossed!

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

The one thing I would change would be the expectations of women’s figures. From skinny to curvy, I believe all women are beautiful in their own way and feel that the fashion industry along with other parts of the modeling industry should accept and embrace models that aren’t the typical “cookie cutter”.

Rachael Elise modeling a wanted tshirtDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I do! I love keeping active and eating healthy; I tend to eat 3-4 balanced meals a day high in protein, and low in starch. I cycle 2 to 3 times a week, and weight train 2 to 3 times a week as well. I cannot stress the importance of taking care of your body, especially when you are young!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I’m a natural dirty blonde!

Would you change anything about yourself?

I mean who wouldn’t want to change something. Do I wish I had thinner legs and a smaller butt? Yes. A straighter nose? A more symmetrical face? Of course. But I’m glad to have my little quirks and imperfections. It’s what makes me…. Me!

What features do you look for in a partner?

Well, first off the physical attraction has to be there! Let’s face it, we’re all driven by physical attraction -I know it sucks, but it’s true-. I’d say the guy has to have some sense of humor, I can’t stand guys who can’t laugh. Someone who is extremely driven, and passionate about what they do, because I myself am that way. Last they have to have some sort of family values, I like men who are caring and think of others before themselves.

Kate Upton heats up the Cook Islands

Kate Upton is arguably the hottest model on the face of the planet right now. She recently did a new Sports Illustrated shoot on the tropical beaches of New Zealand – a far cry from the Antarctica shoot she did last year in the frigid cold. Kate gets to show off some of the smallest bikinis she’s ever worn in this video and doesn’t mind dancing and bouncing in them anyway. See some of the hottest swimsuits Kate has ever worn (and half worn) as all her crew members and photographers talk about how much they, like everybody else, love her.

+ Who

Kate Upton and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit crew joke and have fun in this video, a somewhat behind-the-scenes look of her newest SI shoot. Kate isn’t just a hottie, she is also a fun person to be around. The crew talks about how Kate is vibrant, lively, sweet, and funny and various clips of her playfully joking between pictures back this up these statements. This video allows you to get to know the real Kate Upton a little better personality wise. Is Kate Upton truly the most perfect woman or what? You also get to meet some of Kate’s crew and photographers from Sports Illustrated.

+ Where

The video was made at the tropical beaches of Cook Islands in New Zealand – the setting for Kate’s latest professional shoot. Kate comments how she loves it because it is so warm there. It is actually at several different beaches as well as in and on the water as Kate gets to ride around and relax on some boats throughout the video.

+ What

The video starts off with Kate arriving and wishing everybody good morning for Day One of shooting. She climbs aboard and is ready to get started. At (0:20) Kate compares this shoot with her one in Antarctica. Later at (0:52), one of the crew helps make Kate’s bikini top smaller for the shoot which she jokes about. At (1:10) Kate shows her favorite of the swimsuits brought on location and it is very tiny! She says her butt doesn’t get a lot of attention but she thinks this particular bikini will help it get the attention ti deserves! At (1:40) Kate shows off her singing skills by singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to nobody in particular then at (2:23) Kate shaves the facial hair off one of the members of the crew while commenting it is the first time she’s ever shaved someone ever than herself then at (2:47) her and another crew member dance around in the water and tells him to untie her bikini top. Unfortunately, the video cuts away and ends at that moment…
