Modeling agencies in Cancun and Playa

There are quite a few modeling agencies in Cancun and Playa del Carmen and more keep popping up, though usually the new ones do not last for very long. This should be a warning to models working with non-established agencies as they may disappear as quickly as they appeared. Should you have an issue with any agency not paying or not respecting laws concerning breaks and meals, please report it to the Mexican modeling association.

Day two at H3R photoshoot

Today we were due at the hotel at 11:30 which meant I had time to do an hour of gymnastics in the morning. I arrived 15 minutes before everyone else and alternated between practicing backtucks with full twist, roundoff back somersault with double twist, hand stands on the pommel horse, etc. My shoulder is hardly bothering me anymore, but unfortunately my hand is still quite messed up.

I picked up Ness Plé, a French-Algerian girl, who is playing my wife for the day on the way to the hotel. There we met up with another couple. They were playing our parents. Throughout the day we somehow invented a whole back-story to the photoshoot and had some good laughs. When the shoot was over we celebrated with a few tequila shots before heading back home. Although I enjoyed myself, I was glad to be done since this is the second day we spent shooting almost twelve consecutive hours.

Hacienda Tres Rios Photoshoot

Christian Vicino had hired me to do a couple photo shoot for the hotel Hacienda Tres Rios in the Riviera Maya. I woke up at 7 in the morning and wanted to shower but it turned out there wasn’t any water. It turns out the whole building was without water so my only option was to go to the roof and bring down a bucket of pool water. Luckily it’s rainy season so it didn’t smell like chlorine. I showered the old fashioned way.

By 10 am I made my way to the hotel, which I had visited a few months before as well when they included a free night for a shoot I did at Cancún Spa. I believe it’s owned by the same hotel chain. Unfortunately we’re in the middle of hurricane season and the first two hours we couldn’t make any photos. It wasn’t until noon that we caught a break and started shooting.

I really enjoyed working with Ness Plé and the people from Tribu Kreativa. We has a lot of laughs throughout the day. The staff at the hotel was also great, especially the chef. He was into fusion cooking and he us try yogurt turned to gel by some chemical process. It was a very odd texture, and that’s coming from someone whose eaten cockroach when I was in Thailand.
