Interview with Mariah Sue — Youtube Beauty Vlogger and Model

Mariah Sue is a 23-year old model residing in Waterbury, Connecticut.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born in Canada, Fredricton NB to be exact, but only lived there a few short months. I guess my father, who is a a canadian native, just wanted his only daughter to be born there. I was raised in CT my whole life, although I am not the biggest fan of it. I feel like there isn’t much of a future in the career paths I have in mind. I have a great family and an even more amazing boyfriend; I went to cosmetology school so I am a licensed cosmetologist and I also Film Beauty videos for YouTube – I go by “Pinkl0vexx” or “Mariah McLean” for which I film makeup and hair tutorials as well as other fun videos like hauls, what’s in my purse etc; I truly love what I do and it’s been a blessing to get some income from doing what I love. Makeup is my passion and I like to believe I have true talent with it. Although I continue to learn everyday.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

Back in 2010, I had a “friend”, for whom I use the term loosely because she was a total bitch, who modeled. She always would post racy pictures on Facebook but I always liked them and would comment and be like “wow hottie!” She would always encourage me to model and I would be “great at it” so one day I asked her who to go to and she set me up with a great local photographer named “Jay Walker” He was awesome and totally a great mentor. I still talk to him, and she ended up getting jealous and told people I had copied her.

Mariah Sue topless wearing jean shortsWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I just want to be happy. If you’re happy, then life is good. I would love to see my youtube channel take off and make that my full time career and income. I would also love to be featured in Inked Magazine and any other tattoo magazines. I have a dream to be playboy centerfold but unfortunately due to my tattoos, my dreams of being a bunny may never happen. I was told by a PB photographer that the “tattoos would be an issue” and so that kind of shot me down. I still would love to submit one day though.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I honestly don’t model as often as I would like to. I am super hard on myself and if I am not committing to eating well and exercising often, I won’t shoot. Although I do have plans for upcoming shoots this year! I would love to break into music videos one day, that would be pretty cool. I enjoy glamour modeling, lingerie and would only do nudes for a well established company such as Playboy.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

I have had pretty much great experiences. I have been able to network and meet some really awesome photographers who have worked alongside well known photographers. I have had the chance to actually conversate with some well known PB photographers which blows my mind sometimes; modeling has opened some doors… of course I would love to see some bigger doors open but it’s such a tough industry to get into because everyone thinks they’re a model nowadays especially with Instagram and Instafame.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Looking back I think some of the funniest moments were being shy to do implieds or something just because you’re stark naked, you literally can’t be shy or feel intimidated by a photographer, unless you have reason, because in this industry, if you make it big, everyone will see you naked.

Mariah Sue face closeupIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Less competition would be nice… hah. Just because it’s tough for you to get noticed when there are so many other chicks doing the same thing. You literally have to bring something new to the table! I would also like for the girls not to be so stuck up and support one another. It’s all about women empowering other women!!

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I try to eat low carbs and hit up the gym often. I used to have trainers but that always ended up awkward, as you can imagine… haha. But they taught me some awesome techniques and good dieting tips so I am thankful for that! Nutrition is everything. Some people think they can workout and eat whatever they want but that’s so wrong! Having a healthy diet in conjuction with exercising is when you’ll see some amazing results!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I was raised in a very strict religious household and I am a tough tough cookie; a lot of people underestimate my strength, just ask my boyfriend, he always says “you would kick any girl’s ass” haha.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I wouldn’t change anything, God made me the way I am and I embrace it.
I used to want fuller lips and considered lip injections but the way Kylie Jenner has made every girl do it, I have no interest – I enjoy being different, I hate being like everyone else!!

If you had only 24 hours left to live, what would you do?

I would do some wild shit – skydive, anything dangerous and something I wouldn’t typically do! I would literally take chances and be fearless for those 24 hours!

Interview with Kezziee Mariee — Kezziee Mariee Nude Model

Kezziee Mariee is an 18-year old model residing in Hesperia, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m Kezziee Mariee from Hesperia, California. I have a rare life-threatening disease that only 100 people in the nation have. As weird as it may sound, it’s what motivates me to succeed and fulfill all my hopes and dreams. Modeling is not only my profession but it’s the one thing that makes me forget about reality and this disease. I hope to inspire others and show them that you can do anything you set your mind to even with a terrible illness.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I’ve always wanted to be a model. When I was about 10 years old I’d put the fan in my bathroom and take pictures with my camera. I had my first professional photoshoot when I was 15. It was at the Wiltern theater in Los Angeles. When I was 17 I made a facebook fanpage and I started taking pictures with my friends and uploading them. Then a few months after that I actually started booking photoshoots through Model Mayhem. I signed my first contract on my 18th birthday. Currently I model for Suicide Girls, Wish model Magazine, Unworked Apparel, Lola Fang, Queen Of Diamonds Clothing Co. and featured with Inked Magazine and The Daily Haze.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?Kezziee Mariee sitting on a stair

I want to hit a million likes or fans on facebook by 2016. I want to just inspire others to feel beautiful despite what society believes beautiful is and despite any illness they may have.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I mainly do photoshoots. I do everything from high fashion to nude. I don’t do anything pornographic or spread. My nudes are classy and tasteful. I love to be naked, I hate to wear clothes. Nude is definitely my favorite.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

I don’t think I’ve had a worst experience. I feel like going into this industry you have to be open minded, you have to realize there are going to be people hating and talking crap. But with that being said, my best experience probably was being recognized in public. I never thought that my fan page would turn into all this and given me some of the opportunities I have been given. It’s been incredible.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Well, I’m not sure if this counts, but I like to dance a lot during photoshoots. And if you’ve seen me dance, you’d know that I can’t dance to save my life, but I do it just to loosen up and not be so shy. I have to have music while shooting, otherwise I feel weird. But it has to be up beat music, music I can actually attempt to dance too. And oddly enough, some of those photos have actually made some of my sets, and were good shots.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

No. I feel like if everything was perfect the hard work wouldn’t be worth it. I like knowing that after an early morning and long day of shooting the images are going to be great and my fans will love them. Without the hate, I wouldn’t appreciate my fans as much as I do. Without the bad there wouldn’t be good.

Kezziee Mariee topless at the mirrorDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I’ve played volleyball since I was 9 years old and I coached volleyball for 2 seasons. I had to quit due to medical issues but, I do squats everyday and do a full workout a couple days a week. My diet is awful to be honest. I am a really picky eater, I’m pretty much picky with every and anything, I only eat junk food. haha.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

My eyes change colors. Sometimes hazel, sometimes green, and sometimes blue with yellow.

Would you change anything about yourself?

No I wouldn’t. I love myself the way I am. Imperfections and all.

Where is the weirdest place you’ve ever peed?

My mom, little sister, and I were on our way home from my doctor appointment. We stopped at the beach on the way home, which we weren’t expecting too so we didn’t bring anything to go into the water. On the way home we were just in our shirts and underwear, and we had to pee really bad so my mom went off the exit and pulled over. As my sister and I were peeing, a car came, so we ran back to the car door, waited for the car to pass and continued to pee and then another car came, and it turned into us peeing as we were running to the car so they wouldn’t see us pretty much naked. haha.

Interview with Angélan Mae — Wild Woman in a Necklace

Angélan Mae is a 24-year old model residing in Los Angeles, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I am an open-minded, friendly, adventurous and compassionate free spirit. I’ve always beat by my own drum, just ask my mom. I was born on November 3rd of 1989 and I consider myself an eternal student and artist because of my passion to learn and create. I also love to draw and especially to dance!! Most of my training is in belly dance and ballet which to many are polar opposites and to which I kind of agree. It is a good insight into my personality: open, versatile, primal and civil.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I did some modeling when I was 3 or 4 years old and had nothing to do with it again until I was 23 years. You couldn’t really get me in front of a camera!!! I always wanted to be the one taking the shots as I loved to do the capturing, something I still love to do!. I re-entered the modeling world because of performing job I acquired that required professional shots. The photographer said I should pursue it but what has really kept me interested is my love of art and of being a part of someone’s art.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My spiritual goals in life are to find unconditional happiness through personal strength and Universal love! And I am well on my way!! My physical goals in life would be to travel the Earth and study it all! I want to see its formations, and all of its creations. I eventually would love to be a teacher or a professor one day in the field of Social Studies and Science. I love history, philosophy, and all of the -ologies, specifically geology, biology and anthropology. A good conversation or debate will always be appreciated in my eyes. But not as much as showing the future generations all the wonders of this beautiful planet we get to call home.

Angélan Mae sitting on a chair with a gunHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I usually only model for people who get into contact with me for some sort of vision they have. I’ve done promotional, fashion, glamour, artistic nude and fetish modeling; but I love to do time-period, vintage and theatrical photo shoots. I love to act so these are the ones where I can have a lot of fun getting into character!

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

So far I’ve had good experiences in modeling…as it is more of a hobby. If I had bad experiences with it I would just be over it! I think the worst experiences would be meeting the not so gentlemanly photographers who act a little unprofessionally. But it was nothing too bad and the boundaries were easy to establish.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I guess it would be one of the first professional photo shoots. The photographer had his muse there and we were all drinking a bit prior to the shoot as I knew and felt completely comfortable with them. During the shoot I started playing with the wolf head piece that he had. He jokingly said: “This would make a lot more sense if you were naked”. But I thought that was just the best idea ever and started to strip down right then and there. I knew after that the wolf was truly one of my spirit animals!! I had never felt so natural before! Really got me out of my mind and into my skin.

Angélan Mae posing next to an entranceIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Change will happen either way. It’s a part of nature. Can’t wait to see what will happen next! As long as creativity lives, humanity can survive!

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

My exercise consists of the occasional hikes in nature and of course dancing. I eat very healthy but also do not deny myself any cravings I may have. It’s all about the balance and of course moderation. It’s not about being thin. Being thin does not mean you’re healthy at all. You know when you’re feeling physically and mentally optimal and it comes in all shapes and sizes. Love yourself. “Be-you-tiful!!”

Please share something people don’t know about you.

Hmmm I guess that I’m a lot stronger than I look.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I could always use an extra dose of patience…sometimes I truly have to stop and remind myself that it is about the journey and not the destination. In the words of Albus Dumbledore: “It is our choices…that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” Nerd alert!!

What superpower do you wish you had? Why?

Teleportation!! Traveling would be sooooo much easier!!

Interview with J E M — Full-time traveling model

J E M is a 25-year old model residing in San Francisco, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Im Jaylynn, also known as JEM. I was born near Seattle in 1989, and soon after moved to Prior Lake, MN where I spent most of my childhood. I moved to Minneapolis when I was 18 to pursue a career in cosmetology, attending Aveda Institute. During my several months of school, I was involved in a few hair shows as a model. One thing lead to another, and before you knew it, I was traveling full-time worldwide for shoots and projects. Ive been doing this full-time for over 7 years now, and couldn’t be happier. I’ve lived near Chicago for a few years, then moved to Philadelphia for a little over a year. I am now currently based in downtown San Francisco for over 2 years now. I am still trying to push myself further in my career and continue to work my butt off; traveling and being a muse!

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

As I mentioned above, it was when I was 18 years old while I was attending Aveda Cosmetology Institute. I just started doing hair shows and runway shows, and quickly got into print and commercial work. As the years have gone by, I’ve gotten myself into all types and genres of modeling. I love shooting anything from fashion to editorial, lingerie and glamour, and even art nudes and bodypainting!! I never really planned for modeling, but once I started, I couldn’t turn back.

J E M next to a classic carWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I plan to stay in the industry for the rest of my life. Whether it be modeling, photography, wardrobe, makeup or even a booking agent or creative director. While I am still currently super busy with modeling, I haven’t had the chance to venture out with my photography much, but hope to get more into over the next few years here. I am constantly working on my makeup, hair and wardrobe skills, while shooting almost every day while traveling and always connecting with others in the industry.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I do tours, which last anywhere between one to four weeks. I usually travel more than half of every month. When I am traveling, I like to keep myself busy. I try to schedule at least 1 to 2 shoots per day. I usually hit up numerous cities on a tour, and stay in each city for just a couple days. When I am home, I tend to relax more and not book as many shoots. I use this time as my down time.

I mainly do photoshoots, but sometimes dabble in video work. I also get bodypainted and sometimes have to perform or promote as well. I don’t do much acting or runway shows, as I much prefer the print world. I shoot any style ranging from fashion to playboy style nudes.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best experience was when I won the “bodypaint model of the year” award at FABAIC a couple years ago. It was so much fun to run onstage all painted up and accept my awesome award & trophy!

The worst experience is when I had a heat stroke during a desert shoot several years ago. Luckily I ended up being just fine, but it was still a scary experience for everyone there. You get so involved in getting the best shot, that sometimes models forget to take care of themselves!! Always remember to stay hydrated and eat healthy, substantial foods before shooting!!

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Stereotypes of all genre. From photographers to models and everyone alike. There is just so many of them. It’s annoying.

J E M drinking a cokeDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I do yoga and ballast ball workouts several times a week, or at least try to. I also try to run for at least 15 to 20 mins a few times a week. It can become difficult while traveling, but just being on a shoot is a workout in itself sometimes.

I always try to eat healthy as well. I don’t eat any red meat, and minimal amounts of other meats. I personally don’t like the way meat makes me feel. I try to make my own food several times a week, so it’s a bit healthier. It’s important to get your daily dose of grains, veggies, fruits and dairies. Also multivitamins can be good too!! Even though it’s difficult to continually eat well while traveling, you can always find decent substitutes.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I don’t think I would. I am pretty happy with myself. Although it did take several years to get to this point. There used to be numerous things I was worried about and self conscious about, but with modeling and working on myself, I’ve become quite pleased with myself. Of course you can always continue to better yourself, but I think being content with yourself is one of the first steps.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Watching Disney movies. Not only are they all adorable and fun, they really have a way of bringing me back to my childhood. Who doesnt like that?

Interview with Melody Jordan — The XXX Ballerina

Melody Jordan is a 22-year old model residing in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Melody Jordan and I have been modeling for a little bit over 2 years. I originally come from WV but have gotten my fame when I moved out to Los Angeles. I am best known for my talent in dance and also my talent in singing. I enjoy writing music as well. I currently live back home with my parents and sister, and plan to restart my career in Los Angeles very soon!

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I was always on stage or in front of a camera, so modeling wasn’t anything “new” to me. My father is also a photographer, so I spent lots of days posing for him. I started my erotic career when I was 20 years old when I made my MM and an agent contacted me. I never regretted it and I got so many cool opportunities from it!

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I would love to be a penthouse pet or a playboy bunny one day. But when it comes down to it, I would love to have my own dance school and finish college. I dream of having a family as well.

Melody Jordan lying on the grass in underwearHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I do mostly lingerie and erotic modeling as most of you may know. I also do video and acting and any sort of dance performance I can get my hands on. I usually work full time but currently I am on a break.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

My best experience would be when I got to fly to Hawaii. I got an enjoy all expense paid trip while getting paid good $$ to shoot. I will never forget that trip.

My worse experience is anytime a photographer tries to touch me inappropriately …. that’s a no go.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I think the most embarrassing thing was when -this may get graphic- I was doing a scene and I had a girl spit in my asshole and I was supposed to squeeze it out and the #2 came out instead….

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I think photographers need to understand that there is an art to photography and that not anyone with a camera can take photos. I have seen so many request for someone to get their “private collection” and I think it’s disrespectful…especially when there are paid sites, who keep us erotic models working.
I also think MM needs to get over the fact that there is porn.

Melody Jordan getting undressed on a couchDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I do dance…ballet modern and jazz. I have done kickboxing and I love pilates. Lately I have been picking up weights as well.

I am sorta bad when it comes to eating but when I do eat healthy, I follow a strict 4 to 5 times a day meal plan with plenty of protein and organic food. We have to look our best especially if your butt naked!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I have a guilty please of playing the Sims.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I wish I didn’t gain weight fast!!!!!!

Do you have any fears or phobias?

Yes I have a fear of being alone. I grew up with wanting to find my true love and I hope it happens sooner than later.

Interview with Jamie Lavender — “Just For Fun” Model

Jamie Lavender is a 21-year old model residing in Los Angeles, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey y’all I’m Jamie Lavender! I currently reside in Los Angeles, California, but I grew up in Austin Texas. I work in real estate and modeling is something I’ve been doing as a hobby here and there for about 5 years.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

Growing up, I didn’t have much interest in the modeling industry. I was more geared towards the fashion design; I’ve always been very creative. When I was 16, however, I walked into a well known, high end hair salon and the manager dropped her jaw at my leggy, thin, 5’10” tall figure and begged me to be in a runway show. It was unexpected, but I accepted and had a blast! Plus, I got a free makeover! From then on, I sought out more modeling opportunities.

Jamie Lavender face closeupWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

Professionally, I’m really enjoying what I do right now, managing luxury properties for event and vacation rentals. I guess in the next 5 years, I hope my company will be much more well known and successful.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I only model as a hobby and only half of the shoots I do are paid, so I don’t model very much. I do a photo shoot once a month or every other month. I do mostly lingerie and pinup, fine art and tasteful nude, swimwear, and casual fashion. I don’t do XXX or erotic shoots.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best experience I’ve had modeling was an all expense paid 3 day trip to Miami for a lovely beach shoot. It was tons of fun and who doesn’t love a paid vacation!? I also got to keep both of the bikinis I wore for the shoot which were $300 each. Too cool!

The worst experience I’ve had…hmmm well I’ve had many, so I’ll sum it up with two words: unprofessional and scam! There’s a big difference between a photographer and a guy with a camera. Also, paid or non-paid, I really hate when I waste my time just to be used in some type of scheme. It’s hurtful and degrading.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I auditioned for America’s Next Top Model one year and was rejected because I’m “too big to be a regular model and too small to be a plus size model” … I was shocked. Oh well!

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I think photographers should have to have licenses. I think it would cut out the unprofessionalism and scams.

Jamie Lavender showing her bellyDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I love hot yoga and pilates! I work out 3 to 5 times a week. I try to watch what I eat, but I’m definitely not one of those calorie counting models. I definitely indulge. Life is short!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

In 2011, I dropped everything back home in Austin Texas and moved to LA by myself on a one-way ticket with $500 and no plan at all! It was the most difficult, yet best decision I’ve ever made!

Would you change anything about yourself?

I wish I could have a flat stomach and not gain weight so easily, but I do love my curves. I get so many compliments on my round booty! And now that I’ve had a boob job, I feel extra confident and sexy!

What superpower do you wish you had? Why?

Definitely the ability to fly! I’d never have to worry about LA traffic or expensive plane tickets again!

Interview with Tia Maria — Alternative Cosplay Model

Tia Maria is a 23-year old model residing in San Diego, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey, I’m Tia Maria, a 23 year old alternative cosplay model. I was born in Minnesota, raised in Arizona and now live in San Diego, California! I have an addiction to Nine Inch Nails, I’m an avid hookah lover and I love attending comic conventions!

I’ve worked for the Stan lee Foundation not long after working as a booth babe for Anthony Winn (artist for the comic book Stripperella).

I now work as a booth babe for the comic book artist, Joe Benitez and I’m on my way to modeling for the first steampunk pin up website that was created by my idol, Kato!

Tia Maria wearing a blue dressWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

Okay, first, I’m gonna explain cosplay modeling… It’s someone who creates, models and acts like a pop culture character of their choice!

I started cosplaying 5 years ago but didn’t start modeling until about 2 years ago while I was living in Australia.
I got involved in the industry when I cosplayed for an Australian comic convention… I ended up getting quite a lot of unusual attention and so I got together a few photographers

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

Personally my goals are to find the perfect permanent place to live… I moved around a lot but I’m ready to root myself.

Professionally I want alternative and cosplay modeling to be my full time profession! I hope to be there by 5 years… 10? I’m sure I’ll be at it here and there.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

My modeling depends on the number of comic conventions I’ll be at in a particular month but on average it’s 2 to 3 conventions a month with about 10 photography sessions in a 4 day weekend. Some are cosplay related, others are alternative, pin up and fashion. While at the convention I model as the booth babe and I sell merch, while dressed in cosplay for a company or artist.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best memory I have is of my first nude shoot. I was the only model, out of 5, that was featured in an exhibition twice and I was the only one with the largest photograph on display!

The worst was working with a photographer that was so beyond my experience I became terrified out of my mind! Sadly, it showed in the photos but it didn’t stop me from continuing my modeling!

Tia Maria behind a mirrorIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I hope that eventually body shaming will stop. In my personal opinion, by now, literally everyone can be a model. Lightroom and photoshop have made it all possible and companies truly need to stop shaming society by only using models that are a size 2-0.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I use the military diet as a guideline when it comes to eating and if I can’t use Jillian Micheals’ Ripped in 30 then I make it a point to walk for an hour to and hour and a half.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I tend to be a bit envious of other models. I hope to change this in time because really… Who wants to constantly feel like they’re not in par with such amazing models?

What superpower do you wish you had? Why?

I wish I were like wolverine! Adamantium claws, superhuman strength and regenerative powers? Uh… hellz to the yea!

Interview with Daisy — Dental Assistant turned model

Daisy is a 22-year old model residing in Los Angeles, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah August 21st 1991. I started out doing dance and gymnastics at a young age. I was one of those kids that would want to start something, stick to it for a year then moved on to something else. My grandma and dad raised me, my dad worked nights and my mom lived in Vegas. My parents divorced when I was three. I moved to Arizona with my mom when I was 13. I really don’t have many hobbies; modeling and photography are pretty much it. I started modeling when I as 15 for my friend in High School, that is also when I started photographing. I became a Dental Assistant when I was 19, I loved it. When I stop modeling I will go back to Dentistry.

Daisy wearing white jean shortsWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

When I was in High School my friend was in a photography class. Being her best friend naturally I was her first pick. It was fun so I fell in love with it. During High school it was hard for me to model on my free time, my parents wanted me to have a job. I started doing freelance modeling after I graduated. I started to rebuild my portfolio in Arizona for 2 more years. I moved to California in 2013 and started working with photographers out here. I do all types of modeling except porn, I personally don’t know why anyone would put that in the same category as modeling.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

It’s hard for me to set goals. I feel like it’s almost a jinx. I work hard and try to be at the right place at the right time, I know I am good at what I do otherwise I wouldn’t be doing it full time. I will eventually get somewhere.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I model 4 to 6 times a week, sometimes more. I do couture clothing, swim ware, e-commerce, lingerie, nude, and recently filming. I have quite a bit of filming coming up. I recently played snow white for a fashion film.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Best has definitely been recently working with my friend Jen Awad. She has opened a lot of doors for me. She designs high fashion couture clothes; I am the face of her new fall and winter line. The worst is definitely the pervs. I have had two photographers ask me if I would photograph them naked, very weird.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Nothing I have done yet I try to stay pretty quiet and go with the flow. It’s mostly the weird photographers. All shoots are fun and a new learning experience.

Daisy next to a balcony in black and whiteIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Now? The fact some people won’t work with you because you don’t have a certain amount of followers. I thought modeling was based on talent not followers.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I do lots of yoga and squats. I typically eat soups, salads, sandwiches. I am very sensitive so what I eat has to be fresh and light. Being healthy and following my diet is very important or I get sick. I want to look young forever so I do my best. I am in love with tamales and candy so that’s my cheat.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

My friends and family know my biz. I don’t have anything to hide. I’ts always been hard for me to keep secrets and what not.

Would you change anything about yourself?

My ears they stick out too much. Otherwise I like how I look and am. I think if I could go back in time and tell my younger self what life is like now, I would be proud.

Do you have any fears or phobias?

I have entomophobia, which is the fear of one or more types of insects, and arachnophobia; so bad it’s unreal, it’s hard for me to do outdoor shoots because of it. I always power through but am screaming on the inside! Just thinking about it gives me the chills!

Interview with Krystal Fang

Krystal Fang is a 23-year old model residing in San Diego, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey! It’s Krystal Fang, 23 year old model and singer located in San Diego, CA; raised in Oklahoma. About 2 years ago, I moved here with my husband who’s in the Navy. My family still lives in Oklahoma, but we get to visit each other every now and then. When I’m not modeling I love to sing, write songs, read, and watch cartoons. I’m a lame; I could watch Regular Show and Adventure Time all day everyday.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I’ve always loved being in front of the camera! As soon as I found out California was going to be my new home in 2012, I saw it as a huge opportunity to pursue my dreams. I started teaming up with super talented photographers, some who I still have the pleasure of working with to this day, and took it from there.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

It’s really exciting when I think of where I started and how much progress I’ve made over the years. I hope to continue working with such amazing individuals and learning all I can to further my knowledge and success. I can’t really say where I see myself in 5 to 10 years, but I can say I’ll keep enjoying life and cherishing every moment that I get to reach my full potential and then some.

Krystal Fang resting on a treeHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I am modeling as often as I can. Any opportunities I come across that are beneficial for myself and my career, I jump on them. My work varies from commercial, lifestyle, editorial, glamour, and nude. Recently I’ve gotten more involved with videos and it’s a lot of fun.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

My best experience with modeling so far was being in my first music video for Wonder Broz and Sage the Gemini. When I was younger, I used to want to be in a video, so that was exciting for me. But it’s not just that; everybody who was there that day emanated the desire to be successful and we were all talented and creative in our own way. It’s always nice to be around others who are driven like yourself. I’m going to knock on wood before and after my next statement: Thankfully I haven’t had any really bad experiences so far!

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Oh man, I had a pretty funny shoot a few months back with AJ Garcia. We went out to a desert and I was freaking out because I am terrified of bees or anything large flying near me! And there were a lot! I saw it as a challenge I had to overcome; fear factor in real life. I almost had a panic attack that day. Not to mention I ended up cutting my foot from clumsiness and kept stepping on stickers everywhere. We laughed about it afterwards though, and it was definitely worth it because we got some awesome photos!

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Well um, yes! I wish there weren’t restrictions with some jobs when it comes to height. I’m a short girl (5’4″), yet I tend to photograph tall because I have long limbs.

Krystal Fang walking on a gardenDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

As I’ve started getting a little older, adding a better diet into my lifestyle has surprisingly become more important to me. I say surprisingly because I’ve always been a fast food junky. I just love food! Healthy and unhealthy. My new, and some old, habits include making smoothies every morning, taking vitamins, drinking a lot of water, and working out at least 3 days a week. I can honestly say I’ve noticed a difference, and I’m glad because I don’t want to run into a lot of health issues in the future. I’m working on finding that balance!

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I don’t know how to whistle! I’m still cool though.

Would you change anything about yourself (physical or otherwise) if you could?

I would never change anything about myself. Nada.

Have you ever gone without wearing underwear all day? Why & what did you do?

Yes! When I’m at home relaxing, I like to be completely comfortable. Most of the time I’m walking around with just a crop top and underwear, and then sometimes I wear a cami dress…with nothing else. That might be too much information for some but hey, clothes can be annoying.

Interview with Rose Lidikay

Rose Lidikay is a 19-year old model residing in Torrance, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi everyone, I’m Rose! I was born in sunny Southern California, and I’ve been a California girl my whole life. I grew up in Carson and Torrance, , 20 minutes south of LA, with my parents, older brother, and a varied menagerie of pets.

I’ve always been extremely close to my family, and they mean the world to me. We’ve had some hard times to go through, the worst being my mother’s alcoholism that eventually resulted in her leaving. However, I believe that no matter what happens, it only makes us grow stronger as a family, and there’s nothing more important than that.

I have a plethora of hobbies and interests. I love fashion design, having taken 3 years of a fashion class offered by my high school. I’m also addicted to singing, dancing, acting, drawing, writing… Any way I can express my creativity, I do, even if my drawings are only slightly better than stick figures. I also have an intense fascination for history, which also feeds a growing desire to travel and see the world.

Rose Lidikay in a bloodbathWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I got into modeling when I was pretty young; I had my first photo shoot when I was eight, and my first paid shoot when I was eleven.

My dad is a semi-professional photographer, so my brother and I grew up in an environment where art and photography were commonplace. It wasn’t unusual to see backdrop paper and studio lights set up in our front room, or on the patio, and I was always fascinated with watching the shoots. I remember seeing all the beautiful models my dad worked with, and thinking, “I want to do that. I want that to be me.”

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My ultimate goal as far as modeling is to be able to quit my day job, and be a full-time model. It would be nice to become a jet-setting supermodel, gracing magazine covers all over the world, but all I really want is to do what I love, and still be able to pay the bills.

For personal goals, I’m really passionate about getting the opportunity to travel. There’s so much out there that the world has to offer, and I’d love the chance to just get out there and soak it all in, and to learn and experience new things.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

Jobs are pretty scarce for me, but I’m hoping to turn that around by doing more promotion, and if I’m lucky, getting to sign with an agency somewhere.

The type of work I’ve done so far has mostly been fashion, glamour, and artistic nude photographs. I suppose you could say I’ve done a bit of runway, if you count my high school’s fashion show, but I’ve yet to do anything professionally in that area.

Overall, I’d love to broaden the scope of my work, and make use of the skills I haven’t gotten a chance to showcase yet. It would make me ecstatic if I could get into acting and runway. I’m probably a bit too short for the latter, but I’m sure I could make up for it with sky-high heels!

Rose Lidikay wearing a red dressPlease tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Most of my experiences with modeling have been superb, so there isn’t really much to complain about. However, if I had to pick a bad experience, it would probably have to be how people view my modeling in general.

Near the end of high school, I learned to dread the question “What’s your plan after high school?”. When I told people I wanted to be a model, the reaction was always the same. They’d laugh, and say, “That’s great… So what are you actually going to do?” It infuriated me that people underestimated me, my talent, and my perseverance, but it only makes me want to try harder at being successful.

Another, more personal instance was a former boyfriend of mine. I’d shown him my portfolio before we started dating, and at the time, he seemed really supportive. One night, however, he just went berserk. He ranted about how “selling my body” was trashy, and no different than being a prostitute. Needless to say, I decided that I needed a more positive person in my life.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

The funniest or most embarrassing story was probably an incident I had at a train station. My dad and I had been doing some bikini shots up in downtown LA, and were just starting to head home after a long day. I hadn’t bothered to change back into street clothes, and just had a sarong over my pale yellow swimsuit, wrapped to look like a dress. I unzipped the duffel bag I had all my stuff in, and started to change out my shoes.

The train pulled up to a stop, and suddenly we realized something: we were on the wrong train. I scrambled to gather all the stuff piled up on my lap, and we rushed to get off the train before the doors closed. Unfortunately, I had my arms so full, I couldn’t keep the sarong held up, and it came loose.

I still had my bikini on, but it was such a pale color that if someone weren’t paying attention, it sometimes looked like it blended in with my skin. As I sat on the ground, hurriedly trying to get everything crammed back into my bag, this lady walked past me, and called -loudly-, “Oooooh, girl! Gettin’ naked at the train station!”

I tried my best to shout back that I had a swimsuit on, but I couldn’t manage to do anything but collapse in a fit of mortified laughter.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I think above all, I would want to change the industry’s standards. Most agencies I’ve researched won’t accept anyone under 5’7-5’8 for women, or 5’9-5’10 for men. It’s really disheartening for someone like me, who barely stands at a measly 5’6, to know I’m one inch away from the requirement, and literally one inch away from my dream.

Rose Lidikay next to a fenceDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I’m not really interested in sports, but I’m still a very active person. I love dance, and also partake in running or yoga every now and then. I do a lot of outdoor activities such as hiking and camping with my family, and I believe it’s very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

As far as my eating habits go, I’d say I’m about average. I try to eat as healthy as I can, but I’m also not afraid of the occasional burger or sweets. I definitely don’t have the stereotypical “model” diet, eating nothing but salad 24/7, but I believe I’m overall healthy as an individual.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I’m a huge nerd, and an avid cosplayer; I attend anime conventions about twice a year, and just generally geek out with my friends 24/7. I love watching old reruns of Star Trek, or sitting down with my friends to a game of Dungeons and Dragons. After all, who says I can’t be nerdy and sexy at the same time?

Would you change anything about yourself (physical or otherwise) if you could?

I’ve never really had a lot of self-confidence, and I’m extremely shy when it comes to talking to people. It’s something I’ve been trying to work on, and I’ve started to come out of my shell a lot in the past few years, but it’s still a constant struggle for me.

What superpower do you wish you had? Why?

If I could have a superpower, I’d probably go for time travel. As I said before, I have a fascination with history, and it would be awesome to actually go back and witness the things I’ve only read about in books, or seen portrayed in movies.

Of course, it’d be even cooler if my time-travel power came in the form of a blue police box, with a British guy wearing a bow tie inside.
