Interview with Melanie Boria — Small Town Model

Melanie Boria is a 26-year old model residing in Milford, Michigan.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I am from Milford, Michigan, which is a very small town in the metro Detroit area. I love to travel! I am always going somewhere, I spend more time traveling than at home, love seeing new things, meeting new people and trying new restaurants. I love food, my favorite food is Pasta, and I also can make the best chocolate chip cookies, as well as I’m becoming a professional on Pokemon go.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

Being from Detroit, I always had a strong appreciation for the Auto Show. Ever since I was 3 years old, I loved seeing all of the beautiful models working at the show, so becoming a model and getting to work the Detroit Auto Show was a dream of mine.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I see myself traveling to places I’ve never been and modeling in new exotic destinations, I would really like to do something with food, have a cooking show or a blog where I can share food that I’ve tried in different places, give tips on restaurants and recipes.

Melanie Boria face closeupHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I mostly do photo shoots and video shoots. I’ve been in music videos, commercials, advertisements and book covers. I also do trade show modeling where I get to travel and model; I model year round and it consumes a lot of my time, but I love it so it never feels like work.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

One of my best experiences was shooting a music video with one of my favorite rappers, Passport Louis! He is one of the most fun and passionate people I’ve ever worked with and his music videos are always so detailed, it was awesome to be a part of such an amazing project and after I shot the first music video with him, I ended up shooting 3 more with him.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I was taking photos in an abandoned church in Detroit. I was wearing a very risqué outfit. All of a sudden a bunch of people started coming into the church, turns out this church was not abandoned! I was mortified!

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I think that the industry is getting better everyday. I hope that it will become even more open to more types of looks, shapes and personalities. Everyone is beautiful and everyone should see themselves when they look at a magazine or watch TV.

Melanie Boria with white mini skirtDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I think nutrition and exercise are the two most important things to do for yourself. I love to bike ride, rollerblade and dance, try to get exercise in my everyday life in a way that is enjoyable to me, but I love food! Food is definitely my weakness, and I especially love Italian food and dessert, but I always make sure I get enough fruits and veggies too. I don’t drink and I don’t do any drugs, as I think that part of loving and taking care of yourself is making sure your nutrition and exercise is a necessity.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I love to make people laugh and sometimes for fun I will make up my own stand up routine.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I would love to be able to sing.

What superpower do you wish you had? Why?

If I could chose one superpower it would definitely be flying, I think it would be pretty sweet if I could fly, I could go wherever I want, whenever I want! I could take whoever I wanted with me and it would be so beautiful, plus I would never have to wait through a security checkpoint again.

Interview with Genevieve Burnesse — Full-time Model, Actress & Designer

Genevieve Burnesse is a 19-year old model residing in West Hollywood, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Depending on where you met me, you may know me by a different name; most of my friends know me as “Jen”, my family calls me “Jenny”, but most of the world knows me as “Genevieve”. I am originally from Atlanta and currently based in West Hollywood, CA. The first dress I ever designed was a red velvet evening gown at age 7.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

From around age 7 to 10, I was in a couple of children’s fashion shows for Nordstrom in North Georgia, after which I quit for a few years and picked it back up around age 16. Since then, I’ve traveled all over the country doing photo shoot and fashion shows, festivals and red carpets.

Genevieve Burnesse with black wingsWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My main goal is to continue my design work, build my new brand, BLVCK CVT, and to encourage others to follow their dreams, no matter how distant they may seem. For the longest time, my dreams seemed so far out and I want to spread a little hope; everyday, I strive to create wild new art and enjoy sharing it with our world.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

My workload entirely depends on where I’m at. When I’m in Los Angeles, sometimes I may hit as many as 3 photo shoots in one day! Thankfully, it’s usually only one, and when I’m in my hometown, Atlanta, I work less but I get to dive into more interesting projects, like designing costumes for music videos.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

Last Summer, I was in O’ahu, Hawaii with one of my best friends for over a month doing “suicide shoots” all over the island. That means we drove all over the island changing outfits and taking pictures in all sorts of terrain. The island magic was magnificent.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Who Hasn’t? Just last week, I accidentally posted a beautiful photo on instagram from a recent photo shoot that was a bit more revealing than I would have liked to have on the internet! But don’t get your hopes up, I’ve taken it down now… Only a few thousand people saw it…

Genevieve Burnesse in a black backgroundDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

Sushi is probably the base of my food pyramid. I love fruit, cheese, vegetables and drinking hot tea religiously.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I got my scuba diving license when I was 14, as I love to be under the sea.

Would you change anything about yourself?

If I could make myself a few inches taller and immortal or cyborg, I’d probably go for that first chance I got.

What is the one talent you wish you possessed?

I wish I was more musically talented. Although I can sort of play a bunch of instruments, write music and sing, it’s kind of… whatever. Even if I wanted to go that direction, I don’t think I have the time. Perhaps I should start composing for someone else, haha.

Interview with Sarah D — Music Artist With Model Beginnings

Sarah D is a 25-year old model residing in Studio City, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I grew up in a small Australian city named Adelaide. It’s that city on the coast of the Great Australian Bite, where it looks like someone took a bite out of Australia. I grew up in a very Eastern European household with Polish parents, and having been surrounded by nature, I grew up an outdoors adventure seeker; I love to hike and get in touch with the world around me. I also grew up in a heavy entertainment scene, dancing and singing from a young age which is now my major focus and profession.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I began modeling when I was in my teen years in conjunction with my singing and dancing. I would do a bunch of hair modeling fashion shows as well as catalog shoots for various brands including Dolly Magazine, and from there I began to do numerous bridal expo shows as well as various editorials beauty shots for make-up and jewelry brands due to my high cheek bone structure. Modeling has always been something I found as a fun creative outlet.

Sarah D modeling a black dressWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My goals from a young age have always been to entertain crowds of thousands and fortunately I’ve been very lucky to do that. I love to make people happy or escape their lives even if it’s for a moment, and my ultimate goals are to land a major publishing deal and continue to write for other artists as well as myself. I would love to play a sold out show at Madison Square Garden, and it would be fun to incorporate modeling into whatever I can as I just love bing creative. In 5 to 10 years I see myself excelling tremendously within the field of dance and music as well as being surrounded by people whom I love and trust. I think the ultimate goal for me in life is happiness and freedom.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

Now that I am more focused on music I don’t do as much modeling. If I do, do modeling, it’s usually a nice mix of music videos and photoshoots, and most music videos are for both new and established artists, anything to be in the presence of like minded people. As far as photoshoots, I’m best suited to editorial, fitness and beauty.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I would just love to see more women feel more empowered being comfortable in their own skin. I think the world is slowly turning to the promotion of all shape and sized women and I’d love to see a continuation of that cause everybody’s body is beautiful and unique. We should embrace all of them.

Sarah D face closeupDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I love to run. I’ve always been a strong long distance runner I think thanks to my dance background. I like to mix up my running routine from indoors to outdoors and do HIIT training on the treadmill, which includes sprint 30 seconds, jog 30 seconds. I also love to do hit training with explosive movements like burpees, jump squats, high knees and so much more. My workout routine changes daily, and as far as food, I do try to keep clean, healthy diet. A lot of vegetables, chicken, salmon and smoothies… I love to make smoothies! Both exercise and food go hand in hand in keeping a balanced lifestyle.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

When people come to meet me now, I am usually quite friendly and talkative however, that never happened when I was a child. I was quite shy and would cry over everything. I don’t know how my mom dealt with me!

Would you change anything about yourself?

My brain! We often let our thoughts get the best of us and if I could turn these thoughts off then I would! Other than that, I think we should all love ourselves for what and who we are.

What is the one talent you wish you possessed?

There’s so many… I love learning! But I really wish I could’ve learnt the drums, since it’s one of my favorite instruments and requires a lot of coordination. I have many drummer friends who have tried to teach me and even with my dance background I can never seem to coordinate myself behind that seat!

Interview with Parker Love Bowling — Teenage Troma Poster Girl

Parker Love Bowling is a 16-year old model residing in Los Angeles, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Parker Love Bowling, I am sixteen-years-old, born and raised in the Los Angeles area, where I live with my immensely talented sister, Kansas Bowling, part time; and part time with my parents. I like sewing, reading, writing, playing the guitar, and watching Old Hollywood movies. I am an actress and model completely enamored by the city I live in!

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I got involved in the modeling industry the summer of 2014 as the poster girl for my sister’s film, “B.C. Butcher” which is premiering early 2016. I didn’t know I was going to be the poster girl, she just asked to take some photos of me one day and now my picture is in every horror magazine or website you can name!

Parker Love Bowling vintage photoWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

In ten years I definitely hope to have made a name for myself in the modeling and film industries. I want to be the next Tuesday Weld, having a cult following that immortalizes me. I am still quite young, therefore my goals and plans fluctuate frequently, and as of now, I’m just along for the ride!

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I usually only did shoots when contacted by photographers, but lately I have been getting more and more job offers. What used to be a once a month hobby has turned into a weekly, or even daily job, and when I’m not doing shoots I am constantly going out on auditions and acting in people’s short films and music videos.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The most rewarding experience in my modeling career thus far was just recently when I was flipping through Flaunt Magazine’s new Dial-Up Issue and stumbled across a photo of myself. I did not even know that it was published! It was quite a welcome shock!

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

The most memorable and funny experience I’ve had so far is having Richie Ramone of The Ramones throw a tomato at my face in a music video for the band Kill My Coquette. The director was targeting my face for the shot but kept missing, so she employed Richie, whom I was acting alongside, to throw the tomato since he had the best aim. It was very comical and he felt really bad about it.

Is there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

If I could change one thing about the modeling industry it would be the height requirements. Being only 5’5, it is hard to book certain jobs. I am only sixteen so am of course still growing, but I think a height requirement should only be placed on models for the runway, not print. Most agencies will not book anyone under 5’7, which I find silly.

Parker Love Bowling leaning against a wallDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I used to play roller derby with the LA Junior Derby Dolls, but other than that have never been that into sports. I enjoy swimming, biking and I walk pretty much everywhere I go. Besides all that I do not maintain an exercise routine, though it is important to me that I always stay active and healthy. As for my diet, I am a vegetarian and do not eat dairy, but eat almost anything else. My favorite food is kiwi and I have at least three a day.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I love journalism and want to start my own publication one day. And I love The Monkees, but I can’t decide who’s my favorite one. Long live rock ‘n’ roll!

Would you change anything about yourself?

I would not change anything about myself. It’s important to be yourself and love who you are.

Do you have any fears or phobias?

This will probably be the weirdest answer you’ve ever gotten to this question, but I have a huge sticker phobia and am terrified of yetis. Don’t take me on The Matterhorn at Disneyland and if you buy me a kiwi the sticker better be removed and then washed or I’ll freak out.

Interview with Kae Violeta

Kae Violeta is a 23-year old model residing in Chicago, Illinois.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I go by Kae or Karina Violeta which is just my first and middle name, very original I know. I was raised in a strong single parent home by my beautiful mother with my younger brother in a small town near Chicago’s north side. I always was drawn to the Arts from a young age from singing in talent shows to joining drama club, and took knitting and crochet classes when I was 12 and briefly played piano. As an adult I’ve been able to work Creatively both behind and in front of the camera in the fashion and beauty industry as a stylist and model, as well as taking a couple acting classes and working on a few independent projects.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I was recommended by a high school friend to join her in promotional modeling for amateur MMA fights at 17. She thought I had the look they wanted so I applied and kind of just got jobs here and there from word of mouth.

Kae Violeta modeling an exotic hairstyleWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I hope to gain enough confidence to dive completely into every experience or opportunity I ever dreamed of doing, so that I don’t ever wake up wondering, what if? I would like to see myself in 10 years with a successful business of my own preferably in the fashion and beauty industry.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I wouldn’t consider myself a model. I’m more of a visual arts enthusiast and we will just pretend that’s a thing. I’ve mainly been cast for beauty shots, including face, maximum 3/4 length shots, and hair campaigns or ads; actually all the print work I’ve done has involved hair or makeup in some way. Most recently I’ve been experimenting with video, and have been featured in a Kinto Sol video for their song Todo por ti. It definitely sparked my curiosity and after encouragement from a few close friends I am enrolled in acting courses to further explore that area of work.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

My best experience was working with Lock & Loaded men’s grooming on their 2011 photo submissions to the North American Hair Awards. I remember walking in casting room and seeing a picture of Natalie Portman with a shaved side hair style for V magazine and the directors were like that’s what we are looking for and me just thinking what am I getting myself into? It was the craziest risk I ever took because it definitely hindered my future hair bookings but most amazing experience. One of the main reasons I joined cosmetology school was influenced from that photo shoot.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

While being body painted for an event one of the models being prepped asked if anyone ever passed gas while being painted and for some reason I was taken aback by her question and turned red. It was a funny embarrassing moment for me.

Kae Violeta toplessDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I wasn’t a very athletic girl growing up, however nutrition and exercise play a huge role in my life today. There are things I would rather do than wake up an hour earlier to meal prep each morning but it gives me a sense of relaxation and that way I know exactly what I am putting into my body. I have a few dietary restrictions so sometimes last minute options can be tricky. I try to squeeze in a quick 30 min work out before work but if I can’t I just wait till after, that way I can ask a friend which keeps up the positive energy and I usually up it to a 60 min session. I do miss days sometimes but try my best to work out at least 4 to 5 Times a week, it’s a constant struggle for me to be consistent.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I sing a little happy tune to myself when I’m about to eat really good food ha ha.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I wouldn’t mind having a little wave in my mane so I wouldn’t have to manually do it daily.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Stalking the Biebs IG feed.

Interview with Denise Tapia — Singer, Songwriter and Freelance Model

Denise Tapia is a 23-year old model residing in Atlanta, Georgia.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hello! I am Denise Tapia. I was born in Brooklyn, NY to Dominican parents, but am currently residing in Atlanta, GA. I have been here 2 years now working as a Receptionist at a hair salon, and freelance model, as well as learning the ropes in the music business. I am currently in the process of returning back to school to receive my Bachelors in Biology.

Modeling has always been a favorite hobby of mine, which I have been doing since I was 18. My true passion is Music. I remember writing my first song in the 5th grade for a math project, in which I was awarded a page in the newspaper. Ever since then, I knew music was my calling. I am looking forward into expanding and collaborating with other great artists and personalities. My dream is to one day own my own record label.

Denise Tapia modeling a long necklaceWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

My first official modeling gig was in 2011, when I decided to take a break from school and move to Los Angeles. It was a music video for Ace Hood. While in LA, I was also in a commercial for the Hairfinity hair product. I have always been a photogenic personality and love being in front of the camera.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

In 5 years, I see myself established with my Bachelors degree, as well as working on music and maybe so still modeling as a hobby. However, music is my first passion and I definitely see myself successfully owning my own label 10 years from now.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I model often when I have the free time to do so. It consists mainly of music videos for various artists, including independent and established artists. I have also been in fashion shows, high fashion, urban, glamour, and implied nude modeling, and try to do photo shoots as often as I can.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best would definitely have to be me meeting new people, photographers, and the like, as well as learning more about the industry as I go, and looking back and actually seeing myself grow throughout the years. The worst would have to be when people don’t take business as business, and become unprofessional.

Denise Tapia pointing a gunIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

Yes! I would change the height requirement for high fashion modeling!

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I do not practice any sports currently, but I was an active cheerleader from middle school throughout high school. I am so slim, but I eat crazy. However, I do tend to exercise at least 2 to 3 days out of the week.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

People may not know that I was born with Inverted Nipples-grade 2, which is a condition where instead of pointing outward, the nipple is retracted into the breast. I recently found out about this condition. Also, I do not believe in religion.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I would change my shyness. I tend to be very shy, especially when I really like people. I love everything physically about myself.

Have you ever gone without wearing underwear all day? Why & what did you do?

I hate underwear! I cannot remember the last time I have even purchased a Bra!

Interview with Emily (Stringing Him Along) — Violinist, Model and Computer Nerd

Emily (Stringing Him Along) is a 25-year old model residing in Orlando, Florida.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Emily Dwyer, and I am a motley crew of artistic personalities. I work full time as a computer geek doing tech support, and teach violin part time at Sam Ash. I’m originally from upstate New York -go Mets!- but moved to Florida when I was pretty wee. I come from a single parent household and admire my mother very much, as she has single-handedly played both the maternal and paternal roles in my life. I attended Stetson University for a double major in Violin Performance and Music Technology. Music is a huge part of my life, as is poetry. I guess one could say I’m a Renaissance Woman with penis envy, but the envy is really only motivated by the lack of gender norms and equality in society. Oh, I also like to make people laugh. Whether or not I succeed is another story.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I knew a lot of creepers with cameras -I’m only partially joking-. I also had a lot of artsy friends with big ideas. I think a lot it was motivated by the fact that modeling is a kind of artistic egomania. Art in general is very egotistical. Maybe I’m a legit terrible person and wanted to stare at pictures of myself and go, “Damn, I look good.” I’d like to think I’m not one of those people, though so many models are. If anything, I always felt awkward and needed encouragement to not feel gangly and magoo- and what better place to go for hordes of creepers than Florida? I’m not very good at answering these questions without sounding like an asshole. Musicians are total tools. I suck. But aren’t you intrigued?!

Emily posing on a bedWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

Some personal goals of mine are to release a solo album, publish a book of poetry, and own a Pomeranian. I’m probably most seriously about the last goal, since I might or might not be obsessed with fur people. In the future, I see myself continuing to live in the present and not sweating the “could be”s and the “have not”s. How’s that for a douchey answer? I’m just full of them. And wit. And other charming qualities.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I used to model a lot more, but being in a band takes up a good amount of my time on weekends. I also still try to practice my classical repertoire every day to keep my chops polished. I model during daily selfie blowouts, if that counts. But honestly, I’m more into paid gigs after signing with a modeling company and getting my first national commercial recently. I’ll gladly do TFP shoots, but only with professional photographers. I don’t want blown out pixelation, weird shadows, or to look like a basic bitch in any sense. I’m pretty short IRL, so I’ve only done a few runway gigs- I’m more of a studio model. I have been in numerous music videos, which are always a bang. Photogs are usually either completely for or against my tattoos. To me, my body mod choices are tight and tasteful; I don’t get down with the pretension of “you ruined your body” attitudes. Ruined it for what, my chances at having to starve myself for your summer look book? #hatersgonnahate

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

There is a straight laundry list of the worst experiences. I’ve been propositioned flat out, asked to get naked for “test shots”, asked to do “only ten seconds” of porn… recently, some reject started texting me directly about personal things, implying he wanted to ask me out. I told him I wasn’t interested and wanted to keep our exchanges professional and then he called me a psycho. That was pretty cute… not. In terms of the best, the commercial I shot recently was loads of fun. Also working with my friends in the RO Project for Lavola’s album art was a blast. Working with professional, intelligent, creative people makes everything better.

Emily face closeupIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I wish tattoos on women would be accepted and considered beautiful. I’m not sure why this is even still an issue in 2015; but then again, if America can’t even legalize gay marriage in the 21st century, I’d say we’re a little ethically and culturally behind. I also don’t support the inhumane practices of acquiring fur, leather, suede, and anything else directly from an animal which is often prevalent in the fashion industry.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I am strictly a vegetarian. I have never liked meat, and I don’t support the meat industry whatsoever. I used to be a pescetarian, but felt hypocritical and cut fish out too. I also don’t drink milk, but substitute soy milk in its place. I am a huge animal rights advocate and could never revert to a meat diet. And yes, I would gladly starve on an island or in a post-apocalyptic society where meat was the only available food source. If it has a heart beat, my heart bleeds… and I gag because mentally, I can’t handle ever eating a creature that was once alive.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I can eat a bag of cheddar and sour cream Ruffles in one sitting and not gain weight. In fact, it’s pretty hard for me to gain weight in general. Oh, Ruffles are my favorite, and I’m actually eating them as I type this. Is that pretty cool and interesting? I thought it was. Oh, I won a poetry contest once and got to study in Portugal for two weeks. I think my winning poem was a love sonnet to Ruffles. Maaaaaaaybe.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I’m doing a pretty good job about changing the things about me that I wanted to change, like going blonde and getting additional tattoos. There’s no point in adopting a defeatist attitude about personality traits. If I don’t like something about myself, I work on it and come to terms with it so I can be a better person.

Do you have any fears or phobias?

I fear stupid people. Just kidding. I do have a phobia about dealing with not-so-smart, not-so-informed individuals, though. I definitely have a bit of a hang up about germs and being clean. I have an irrational fear of being abandoned. I also despise ants. Like, phobia to the max over ants. I’d rather fart into a microphone on live television than do some stupid Fear Factor shit with ants crawling on me. Seriously.

Interview with StoStorama — Singer/Songwriter/model

StoStorama is a 21-year old model residing in Tarzana, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi, my name is Nicole Stoehr and I was born in Tarzana, California on December 3rd. I am currently a full time student at Perce College. My passion is for creating music, singing, song writing, modeling, and performing. Apart from my passions that I follow in my life I seek relaxation, peace, and inspiration from my friends and loved ones, enjoying the beach, and meditating with vinyasa yoga.

StoStorama sitting on a chairWhen, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I started modeling as a child actually when I was 5 years old. I did a lot of print work for Speedo, Disney, and Mattel. When I was 8 I started modeling for Mattel comercials and began working for clothing brands as well. Once I hit Middle school I started focusing more on music and landed a record deal with Buena Vista Records. But now that I have graduated High School, I have started to model again for several compaines and photographers.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

For me my personal goals are quite simple. I hope to find inner peace and happiness within myself and maintain a balanced life despite the obstacles that may come in the future. 10 years from now I hope I have at least three albums released. I want people to hear my songs and connect with people all over the world, and also hope to be establishing my own buisness writing/ producing songs, music videos, and art with a creative team.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

The work load I get for modeling often changed month to month. But usually, I get at least two jobs a moth. I have done a lot of work recently. I have acted and modeled for shorts, music videos, and Web Series as well. I have also gotten work for fashion modeling.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

Once I was at a water park doing a swim wear shoot, and when I was doing the shoot I stepped on a bee that was in the water and totally started crying and couldn’t stand for the rest of the day.

StoStorama face closeupDo you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I think the most important part about one’s health is his or her diet. For me I try to eat a plant based diet and stay away from meat and dairy as much as possible. I don’t restrict myself from eating these foods but I feel like I have better skin and more energy when I eat real natural food that comes from nature. I changed my diet when I was 18 and started making my own food and staying away from processed food and I don’t think I can ever go back to “unhealthy” eating. I just have grown to like real food better.

When It comes to exercise my favorite thing to do is dance. I love connecting with music and using my energy to dance. It makes me the happiest when it comes to exercise. But honestly the best way to stay on top of my fitness is trying to switch it up and do different things so my mind or body never gets bored.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I am obsessed with boxes and notebooks.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I would make myself more confident in myself; that is something I am always working on, it would also be nice to be another inch taller.

What is the one talent you wish you possessed?

I wish I could teleport.

Interview with Nick Denbeigh — Actor and Martial Artist

Nick Denbeigh is a 25-year old model residing in West Hollywood, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey everyone! I am Nick Denbeigh, an Actor from Spokane, WA. Professionally I have been acting and modeling the past 6 years. Before that I spent time in the arena football league. Currently I train in Traditional Kung Fu with an emphasis in Northern Styles and weapons. I love to read, train and compete in athletic activities.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

I first started in Acting and Model in 2008 with a brief role in Bring It On Fight to the Finish and opposite Christina Milian in her music video Us Against The World featuring just me and her. From there I was hooked and still can’t get enough being on set and preparing for roles.

What are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

My professional goals are to make films for a global marketplace. I want everything I do to be of the highest quality and memorable. It has to stand the best of time and make people want to view the material over and over. In 5 years I see myself making tent pole action films. Filming 2 studio and 1 indie project every year.

Nick Denbeigh wearing a casual outfitHow often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

Acting and modeling is my career. I’m actively doing something in that field everyday from researching characters or trends to actual shoots. Right now I’m heading into post on a project entitled ASCENDED MASTERS, which my team and I have put a lot of work into as well as gearing up for fashion week in NYC.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The best experience for me is always viewing the finished product. All of this work goes into these things behind the scenes that not too many people see and when it is all said and done the final product is amazing. For instance ASCENDED MASTERS has been in the works for about a year now from the planning, writing, shot list, choreography for the fight scenes, rehearsal to actually shooting and post. Once it is finish it can never be taken away and that is a very special thing.

The worst experience is just the down time. I have to work on something at all times or I get depressed. I love this industry so much that I wouldn’t want to do anything else.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I did a shoot one time where I had full body removable tattoos all over my body. It took about 15 hours to apply it all and at the end of the day they were getting to remove it all. I’m practically naked in the changing area and one of the producer’s friends came to set and wanted to see the tattooing so I said of course. It turned out her friend was a famous actor that I had watched on TV growing up. It caught me completely off guard but it’s a pretty funny memory I have from that awesome shoot.

The industry is constantly evolving. It’s our jobs to embrace the changes and make the most of our opportunities and that is what I try to do.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

I practice Traditional Kung Fu, play basketball, weight train, bike ride just to name a few. I was recently on the Nike 3 on 3 Basketball tournament at LA Live. I do martial arts choreography for films. Exercise is my life. I have been playing sports since I could walk and martial arts is part of my soul. Nutrition is key to keeping me healthy and fit. I never get sick and bounce back fast from injuries and it all has to do with the rigorous train I put myself through and what I put in my body.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

People don’t know how much I read and study. I am addicted to learning and growing. Pushing myself to perfection and I will make the sacrifices in order to do that.

Would you change anything about yourself?

I wouldn’t change anything. I have been blessed with many talents and gifts and I try to maximize those. If there is something that needs change I address it. I work hard to change those things if there are any. So no there is nothing I would change that I can’t change.

What superpower do you wish you had? Why?

I wish I had the ability to teleport. Sitting in traffic is not my idea of fun especially living in LA. I would love to just be able to instantly be where I need to be. I want to explore different plants and galaxies and being able to teleport there would definitely save a lot of time.

Interview with Indigenous Destiny — Creative Director turned Model

Indigenous Destiny is a 24-year old model residing in Woodland Hills, California.

How would you introduce yourself to our readers?

I was born in Santa Monica, California on January 22, 1990 to a Dominican mixed mother and Black Native American father. Both my parents were in the entertainment industry while working full time advertising jobs. I’m a creative director, singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, and designer. I dabble in painting, photography and editing. One of my hobbies has always been roller blading; if it’s 2 miles or less I just skate there.

When, how and why did you first get involved in the modeling industry?

When I got to the age of about 19 I started to take my music and dancing career more seriously, which meant I needed head shots for auditions and shows. The more I began shooting with photographers the more they wanted to work with me outside of my own projects. The fact that I was a dancer and knew how to pose my body made me easier to work with than other models who were tall and awkward. I would be on set for a music video and the photographer would pull me aside afterwards to do a shoot. As I posted more and more photos, photographers started to take notice and contacted me more and more. Eventually I was contacted to model for a couple clothing lines even though I’m only 5’2″. It was a kind of snowball effect.

Indigenous Destiny wearing a long zebra dressWhat are your personal and professional goals? Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?

I would love to collaborate and creative direct some semi-improv music videos with live music, dancers and vocalists. As an artist this is my goal: all of my music videos and projects would be intertwined with at least 5 or more art forms. Hopefully in that time frame I’ll have 3 to 5 albums out and have my jewelry line fully launched on a global scale.

How often are you modeling and what does it usually consist of?

I used to do music videos pretty frequently; about 4-6 per month. Now it’s down to about 1 per season. I do photo shoots about once- twice per month depending on the project. These shoots are usually fashion based, but occasionally athletic or artistic.

Please tell us about the best and/or worst experiences you’ve had so far in modeling.

The Best experience I had was actually on set of a music video. I was hired initially to be stylist and the day before we shot they told me the lead female had cancelled and they wanted me to be the lead! So the two day shoot I was in dancing and acting with the rapper and the director asks them to cut. He then told me that he wanted to shoot me for his portfolio, so that was pretty awesome.

The worst experience I had was actually on set after my music video. We stopped filming to do the shoot of me in this couture, thick knitted and wire, sculptural dress. It was 109 degrees in the middle of August and they had the reflectors on me for 45 minutes. I lost my breath and passed out in the tumbleweed in this gorgeous dress. We had to reschedule the shoot for another day.

Have you had anything funny, embarrassing or completely out of the ordinary happen during your modeling career?

I was modeling for this street wear brand in the Hollywood hills and they had me roller blading down hill in this crop top and teeny shorts. The assistant photographer was assigned to catch me at the bottom of the hill once they got the shot. However…that did not happen. I pushed to go down the hill, throwing my arms up, hair blowing in the wind like a California girl. I guess the crop top slightly came up too because the assistant was staring at me blankly with his jaw dropped and never put his hands out to catch me. I ended up plowing right into him, knocking both of us into a trash can and bushes.

Indigenous Destiny in a destroyed houseIs there anything you would change about the modeling industry if you could?

I don’t think there’s anything I would change. I’m very grateful with the niche I’ve found. I think if you want to be a successful model you need to find the photographers, editors, and creative minds that love the look and style you have. The industry has really expanded in the last 40 years and continues to do so.

Do you practice any sports and what do you typically eat? Please elaborate on the importance of nutrition and exercise in your life.

As you know I love roller blading. It’s great for the legs and abs. I also love Pilates and dance. I do those about 3-5 times a week. I believe in being and looking healthy. It doesn’t matter if you’re 105 pounds or 140 pounds. If you look healthy and your body is toned in the right places it shouldn’t matter. I mean, I happen to love tea and salads but the occasional burger or tacos I’m fine with. If I know I have a shoot coming up, I’m very adamant about nurturing my body. I don’t starve myself, but I’ll incorporate more veggies and double to triple my water intake and my workout regiment.

Please share something people don’t know about you.

I have this weird obsession with spam musubi. I know it’s so bad for you, but if anyone ever makes it I will be the first ordering a bunch.

Would you change anything about yourself?

Not really, I’m pretty fine with myself. After my acne went away I felt blessed enough! I guess I would like to have slightly bigger hips to balance out my chest, but I’m not dying to have that happen.

Are you currently in a relationship? How would you describe your partner?

My fiancé is one of the funniest people ive ever met. He’s this tall southern man who is super simple. I like to call him my little Scrooge sometimes because he’s kind of skeptical and likes to keep to himself, but deep down when he’s around me he’s a sweetheart. He’s the total opposite of me, he doesn’t like crowds, he’s a homebody…he’s just an old soul even though he’s younger than me. It’s like really hot to me that he’s so young and handsome with the personality of a cute grouchy old man.
