Hacienda Tres Rios Photoshoot

Christian Vicino had hired me to do a couple photo shoot for the hotel Hacienda Tres Rios in the Riviera Maya. I woke up at 7 in the morning and wanted to shower but it turned out there wasn’t any water. It turns out the whole building was without water so my only option was to go to the roof and bring down a bucket of pool water. Luckily it’s rainy season so it didn’t smell like chlorine. I showered the old fashioned way.

By 10 am I made my way to the hotel, which I had visited a few months before as well when they included a free night for a shoot I did at Cancún Spa. I believe it’s owned by the same hotel chain. Unfortunately we’re in the middle of hurricane season and the first two hours we couldn’t make any photos. It wasn’t until noon that we caught a break and started shooting.

I really enjoyed working with Ness Plé and the people from Tribu Kreativa. We has a lot of laughs throughout the day. The staff at the hotel was also great, especially the chef. He was into fusion cooking and he us try yogurt turned to gel by some chemical process. It was a very odd texture, and that’s coming from someone whose eaten cockroach when I was in Thailand.

Quad bike testing

In the morning I went to gymnastics. We did stretching for almost an hour and a half, which seemed a bit long to me, especially since we were stretching one by one in groups of three. So most of the time was just wasted helping someone else stretch. Besides, the stretches weren’t any better than what I could do by myself.

Afterwards I headed to the gym where I tried to figure out a new routine. I think I’ll do something similar as before, but I should at least add in one more exercise. I had a small protein shake in the morning and a protein bar before the gym so I felt energetic and didn’t feel hungry. When I was about to leave it was pouring rain so I added another 5 minutes or so to my workout. I felt I could’ve exerted myself more but didn’t have much inspiration for exercises that don’t require me to grasp with my broken finger.

Back home I had oatmeal pancakes as I regularly do. Later I figured out that it contains about 1,000 calories, so combined with my post-workout drink that’s about 1,400 or so. After trying to get a food schedule worked out I sent Dihana to the bank to pay the gas bill as I ate a packet of turkey and some cookies from OXXO. Then, we went to Costco. I mainly needed cleaning supplies.

Around 7 in the evening I figured I should go and test my quad bike. Technically I bought it about two months ago even though I didn’t go fetch it until yesterday, I’m overdue for a test drive. I headed to Isla Blanca but it turned out they paved almost all of the roads, so now it’s not really interesting to drive a quad bike there. At first I felt very insecure and cautious, but soon I was testing it’s limits driving at 120 km/h and jumping road bumps.
